Breck pissed me off.

summit county has plenty of gnarly shit, you just need to hike/sled/tour for it. unfortunately none of those are an option for most tourist so you're relegated to the super crowded resorts. i guess my advice is to make the best of it and don't expect to be skiing British Columbia ski movie lines right beneath the chair when you come out for xmas break

Pretty much 100% correct.
Everywhere has its ups and downs.
Tahoe has incredible terrain, but the snow is variable (6 weeks without a storm?), and hot pow.
Utah has great terrain and snow, season passes are expensive and you fight for tracks on pow days.
Colorado has great terrain parks, but you have to explore a lot to get good terrain (east vail chutes, A basin sidecountry).

all the yuppies and locals will say colorado is the best. LOL, they get little snow, its all avalanche prone, its littered with east coast wanna be's, they are over packed, most of the people claim "it's the great outdoors", there is service everywhere, and a walmart to accommodate, did i mention colorado sucks, the beer is week and the dope is swag. they can keep their state and their pride!!!

HAHAHAHA this is so fucking funny. I suppose Idaho is ten times better then huh? And oh yea, our dope is most defiantly swag, its some dirty piece of brick shit bud out here.

can someone clarify why breck names their peacks 7 8 9 10 and dont start from 1? iik theirs other peaks around it but i just dont see why they had to nuber it like that.....

This clueless guy who thnks summit county is all park has never been to A-Basin or out of breck, or copper of wherevers park. Pallovinci, T-bar at Breck, Jupiter Bowl.. dont want to spoil it all for him so get out of the park once and a while and find the goods!!

fuck no, i went to whistler once and there was half the shit was closed in late january for avalanche saftety but there was no fucking snow at all. i didn't ski park then

What a joke.
Breck has plenty of fun terrain...is it comparable to some of the BC meccas? Of course not, but there's plenty to do, it's huge, and truly offers something for everyone. People make way too much of the crowding situation...if you've ever skied on the East, the lift lines are really no worse. Plus, if you know the mountain, it's really not that difficult to dodge the crowds. People getting all sucked into the "scene" and the attitudes of the locals are silly. I've never understood why people get so worked up about shit that's truly unimportant.
I skied from 12-4 today, mid spring break, and I had a fantastic day bouncing all over the mountain. Everything is incredibly soft, and I was letting out little woops of pure joy as I hopped through crud and popped off of wind lips.
If you weren't able to have a good time at Breckenridge, with the season we've had this year, I hope I never ski with you because you're obviously a miserable person.

Breck is located on a mountain range called the ten mile range. When youre there next, look towards the town of frisco, thats where the ten mile range starts with peak 1...going all the way up to peak 10. Breck, the ski area, is on peaks 7-10...kind of. You can really only access the very top of 7 and 8 though via lift access.

I don't get why everyone's saying only go to breck for the park they have a lot of fun shit off imperial and e. Lift lines really suck though on weekends.

well what did you expect from a mountain known only for its terrain park. it's been a pretty good season though, no complaints here.

you need to leave your state then, and try out other places. sadly you'll learn your state blows. you don't know anything but your co swag, but if you go to the northwest and they'll teach you what is right. i am not saying idaho is the best state. but it has good snow and chill people. go even more north and you are in the best terrain you can find. yeah your 3.2 beer is so good its just like utah. colorado is a utah with the ability to sell swag

So... If I understand you correctly, you came to a top vacation hot spot in the country, it was way overcrowded at peak tourist season and you were surprised there were lines? Just don't ride there then. Your complaints are so profoundly stupid

Its 3.2 beer if you buy it in the grocery store dumb fuck. I haven't tried one good beer to come out of Idaho. We have Blue Moon and Fat Tire. Get your facts straight before you start ripping on the CO. I think your just fucking jealous that you live in a state that is known for its meth problem and a schools blue turf field. We have good terrain if you go south too. All you have to do is go look at the Red Bull Cold Rush pics to see that.

You seem confused. Here, let me help you, because I live in CO and my family lives in ID and I have spent a great deal of time skiing and chilling there.
Beer:
In CO, within 1 hour of my house I can go to these fantastic, award winning breweries:
AveryNew BelgiumBoulder BeerGreat DivideOskar BluesUpslopeMountain SunBackcountry BreweryOdellsFort Collins Brewery
etc...
I don't think I can name one brewery worth mentioning in idaho.

Oh yeah, what's that? CO has one of the largest medical MJ industries in the country? And trust me dude, I lived in Portland, OR for years, I prefer the bud here.
And lets not even get started on the skiing...

lol cause there is no terrain you can ride there lol, you have resorts but no snow. 20" storm is unheard of there. there is good beer everywhere we're in america bro. fact is its all watered down. and keep you largest industry in pot, still sucks

wow your a little kid. Where are you getting your facts from bro? 20" storms happen all the time. Is the Red Bull Cold Rush in ID. No its in Colorado so I don't see how we have "no terrain." Im gonna stop arguing with you though cause you obviously have the IQ of an eight year old.

K buddy, lets talk when you've grown up and drank a real beer, skied some real terrain with blower snow, and smoked a real bud. I mean I love ID, but its not even a contest man.

Oh and to the point of this thread, fuck breck for anything but park. On pow days everyone gets bottlenecked at certain spots and its just super frustrating. I really used to love riding there but I'm kind of over it at this point. any mountain that makes their passholders park, take a 10 minute bus ride to a gondola, take a 15 minute gondola ride to the base, get on one lift, then a T bar, then ANOTHER lift to get to the top, can suck my nuts. I'll keep riding Abay and Berthoud, thanks.

This year? If your talking about this year than you are completely mistakenly wrong there bud. Are you just pulling just pulling this shit out of your ass?

no, there was two 14"+ days thats not a lot of snow. its ok that your state sucks you don't have to lash out on me tho

why dont u guys stop complaining and enjoy what you have. I ski a 200ft vertical fucking hill. some times i get to ski a 700 ft vertical hill. quite bitching about terrain

To the people arguing over states, you're all wrong, Ny is waaay better than west coast. We just got completely dumped with rain and ice, the skiing is so smooth its like an ice rink sooo much fun!!! Not to mention the insane back country our massive 1200 ft vertical mountains get.

Honestly you guys are like fighting over whether your ferrari or Lambo is better while other people are stuck with Volvos, stfu be grateful you leave out west

Why was this thread bumped? It's lame. I can't believe how much I freaked when this was originally posted. I rescind that response. I have barely even ridden Breck this season... the lines suck ass.
