What the fuck?! Today my buddy Larry who works in Vail Resort's front office told me that this year freeway is going to be a tubing hill, too many people get hurt on the jumps, they are only going to build it up for comps. I guess Keystone's will be there though....

tubing hill with 70 ft jumps, sick!

the only real bad thing happening at breck this year is no pre-season park on peak 9. Gota wait till dec 1st. :/.........poopy

we are lucky if our home mountains blows 2 feet of snow by that time

skiing doesn't start here until janaury

effink west coasters

think they own the world...

HAHAHA. oh god.

anyway, i'm calling BS. there's no way breck would take down freeway. plus, i'm pretty sure there's some fine print on passes and whatnot that doesn't make resorts liable for people getting hurt on jumps and whatever... maybe someone can clarify that

When you purchase a pass you are skiing at your own risk, taking away your right to sue or some shit like that.

People still can be retards and ruin the fun for everyone, like the Downhill biker who broke his neck biking and sued Big Bear, and now there is not more DH biking at Big Bear :(

sleezy lawyers get around it, that's what happened with some dumbfuck who got paralysed at snoqualmie pass, then was able to sue for 27 million (got reduced to 14m for inherent risk)

or the entire thing at summit snowqualimie when the guy overshot the icy jump by like 100 feet and paralyzed himself and sued the resorts since they didnt make a safe jump.

dont quote me on those numbers, im just going off memory, search it though, there's a bunch of threads, and articles nationally and in the seattle times.

Dude I know some sorry little asshole who died there a couple years ago. He attempted the impossible and impossible one. Some how he got it in his head that it would be "cool" to try jump from the first jump in brecks park and then land on the transition of the second jump. We are talking at least 100 feet here if not more! And to top off his strange extreme fantasy he felt inclined to incorporate a screamin seamen into the junk show. So just picture for a minute some kid hauling ass( on twin tips) and hitting the first jump, and soaring way past the tranny while doing a seamen screamin and then proceding to land on the lip of the second jump.......... Fucking wild ride into the end i suppose. Instant death! He hit his head and ended up in a comma. Never made it home for super! He is gone but not forgotten.! so please any time you roll through brecks park be sure to make a prayer for that crazy asshole who attempted the impossible.

more seriously though, I highly doubt Break would take down their high end park, If they did take down the park, they would soon realize that the park is all their flat CO ski hill had to offer.

Not that good, lake chutes are the only thing that is steep, and it is soooo short it isn't even worth it. THere is some good trees off of E chair though, doors and windows ftw.

breck isnt that bad. you just have to be optimistic bout shit. theres the shoulder off the bowls of peak 7, the t bar has some fun natural jump lines the woods that NO one hits. its sick to make your own jump line and hit like 4 natural jumps in a row. decent backcountry booters spots on peak 10. if you really want serious terrain then you shouldnt be in summit county with the exception of Abasin. Yeah the trees do lack at Breck but if you want amazing trees you know where to find them.......Keystone.

Ain't no "coasts" round these parts.

When did Colorado get grouped into the "West Coast"? It doesn't make any sense.

you're an idiot. they are still having their breck. only difference is its ski bikers only. sorry skiers and boarders

I'd go so far as to say that Freeway is the least likely to be taken out of any terrain park in the world.

Colorado has way better laws than most places protecting ski areas from negligence law suits.

It's the 23rd(?) year of Freeway.

It wins all sorts of "best terrain park" awards, and gets tons and tons of publicity. And it consistently does every year.

It hosts the NAO and is a big part of their Spring Massive festival.

etc. etc.
