Breck/Keystone Opening Weekend

About time in Colorado. Keystone said they wouldn't have a preseason park but haven't heard about breck yet. Anyone headed up? Also would a basin be a better option because of crowds, park, etc?

I mean, you ask a stupid question you get a stupid answer.

In past years, regardless of the amount of snow, I know at least keystone has had a few features up on opening day. Since this isn't the case this yr I'm wondering if anybody knows what their plans are. It's a perfectly reasonable question.

Right...

It's warm. They have no snow or temps. They are lucky to have enough snow for what they have open. Terrain parks are not the top priority. Especially with opening late.

When it gets cold and temps allow ski areas will expand and put in your jibs and jabs

I talked to park crew yesterday and they said they're going to have a hike park set up by Thanksgiving

Kinda off topic but about how long of a hike is it from the top of the lifts up to the bowls at Keystone? I'm going there in Feb and never been.

It's not too bad depending on where you are talking about. From North Peak it is probably a solid 3/4 mile up before you have options. Pretty constant and 1.5 to the true "top" of Bergmann.

From Outback pay the $5 and let the cat do the work.

Map actually does the hikes justice on accuracy:
