Hey all, I was going to make a drive to breck to check out some features in the bowl, has anyone checked it out or know any details?

Below is a picture of 4th of July Bowl taken exactly 3 weeks ago. I haven't been up there since then, but can't imagine there being much of any snow left.

A few weeks ago we went up to St. Mary's glacier. Its a lot closer than the 4th of July bowl and it was only like a 30 minute hike to get to the snow. there were like no sun cups, it was just awesome. There was a flat down box up there and some kids building a booter towards the top too. I would definitly recommend it

get on the peak 9 access road by the horse stables and you can offroad all the way up to the snowfield, its about a 45 minute drive once your on the trail. we had rails set up there last year until the middle of september. headed back in a lil over a week, im sure me and some friends will be up there to set stuff up.

haha what are you smoking jared? sun cups were horrible and the hike sucked haha... and i think they were taking the flatdown box down with them. and doesnt 4th of july bowl last till like december?

theres still snow. and unlike st. marys, if your vehicle can make it up, its no hike to snow. up now is a small double barrel flat rail, plastic corrugated pipe, smooth plastic pole jam, flat down rail, and another little flat rail. and some stupid snowboarders probably put up a "rythym section" again.

how gnarly is this "offroad drive" exactly? would my awd outback make it up? ive driven my shit offroad before, just want to know what im getting myself into. ill be in denver by friday, movin into my place on saturday, then prolly gonna head up sunday and possibly a few more days during the week. any NS'ers tryin to meet up?

I saw an edit with a legacy in the background....also I heard about a minivan going up. I'll probably still stay on the safe side and find someone with a truck or suv....

yeah dude! I havent seen this edit in forever, this is what I was talking about when I heard of a minivan making it up.

I was up there yesterday and never saw one. When did you go up?

Anyway, obviously a car CAN go up, but it is not a good idea at all if you like your vehicle.

the road really is terrible, you'll make it out alive pretty much unscathed if you drive the road the right way.

gah! my vail rail!

she went missing in action last summer, somewhere up on mosquito pass! reward if recovered/found...!

ps- dont that lip look damn fine...you can thank me later...

Bump, anybody been up recently? I imagine the road is still completely buried, but worth a shot I figure

I was up in the area about a week ago and the snowpack was still pretty good. Honestly your chances of getting up the road are pretty slim unless you have something that can handle the snowpack or you want to hike up there. Just wait a few weeks or maybe a month and then it should be good enough to drive up. Hope this helps a little!

You'd probably have a way easier time skiing car laps on Loveland pass. just seems like a lot of work still to get up there
