Breaking skis

so I just broke my old rossi scratch ghettos on my summer setup after taking a nice tip dip into the dirt after a 270, snapping it right above the toe piece.
such a bummer when skis break, even though everything was fucked up with those skis haha.
anyone have any good stories of breaking a ski?

early spring tree skiing both tips under a log = both tips snapped upwards at a 45 degree angle. this was before rocker was cool.

I was sword fighting with a buddy and accidentally swung and hit a wall and they snapped right behind the heel piece.

9 on the water ramps, landed really tail heavy and snapped it right behind the heelpiece. bye bye HH pros :(

Well they were very old and extremely water damaged because of a puddle jump that day. Plus I do take pride in my extremely large body mass.

And here is a pic to prove. ( I am second to left in the surboard shorts but I am sure that you could have guessed that.)

i had a binding literally break right off my ski mid turn at squaw last year. incidentally it was the same day C.R. died. that was a weird day to say the least

i tried to gap from a little patch of snow, down maybe 5 feet of rock onto the trail and somehow caught my nose on a bush, my board slammed into the rocks and broke just in front of the front binding, then my whole body twisted around and jammed the tail into the snow, snapping the tail off right behind my back binding. it was a salomon sanchez and the board was 11 days old. three seperate pieces...

Got bored in the backyard in the summer, decided to try some flatground punch fronts with some really old, smaller skis...I landed it...but, well:

didn't even think it would work so didn't film it...it was on a slight down hill, so flatground isn't exactly correct.
