Breaking in Boots

how long did it take you to break your new boots in? i got 1080 boots from 03-04 (i think, bright neon green) and i havent gotten them broken in yet, mainly cuz i skied on them one day. just wondering how long it will take to break them in.
 
i had last years foil boot, and when u try it on its completely different from when u break it in, once you break it in it wil lbe bigger and more roomy. it took a good week, week n a half of hard riden to break them in completely
 
depends on how much your ride. Took me like two week-ends and i was set. If you can't get them set up, then walk around the house with them....well except on hard wood floors.
 
my boots had the heat moldable liner which basically just accelerates the breaking-in process, so after molding them they didn't really pack out at all. my boots before that though were pretty much completely broken in after like 4 days of skiing.
 
yeah i have technica vento 10s and it took me like 3 days to fully pack them out, but i did wear them around the house for a couple hours...if you dont want to wait to pack em out then bring in the liner to a shop and tell them to do it for you...they will slip the liner on to a metal foot and beat the fuck out of it with a mallet...they should do it for free if there not busy, well at my shop we do it for free at least and its hella fun
 
quick question to add to the original post:  I got a new pair of Lange CRL80's and they fit great in the foot, but feel a little tight in the ankle/bottom calf. This is my first pair of brand new boots, so i'm not familar with the break-in process. Should I expect this part to pack-out as well, or will they always be tight in the ankle?
 
yeah, i realize that a tight fit is better, but in an effort to get my "fix" i was wearing my gear in my dorm the other day and it felt like it was cutting off circulation around the ankle. I supose I could always have them "blown" out w/ air at a shop if they stay that tight after i break them in.
