Breaking Bad Season 5 Premier Tonight!!!!!!!!!

that warehouse lady is probably going to be dead by next episode. mike always gets his way, and he said he handles the business and this one time he lets it slide for some reason?

I don't see how they've drawn out his cancer....The most recent episode of season 5 marks exactly 1 calendar year since the pilot episode and Walt's 50th B-day. He was diagnosed a year ago, underwent treatment for about 4-5 months (guess) and is now currently in remission. They've hinted that he will be suffering again in another year (the scene in the diner ep 1 of season 5 where he is coughing and taking pills). As far as "realistic" timetables go, that's about dead on.

The difference between a show like Breaking Bad (The Wire another example) and shows like Weeds (The Office) is that Breaking Bad has a very specific story to tell with a pretty traditional 3 act structure.

Breaking Bad has a definitive ending, unlike shows like Weeds (sorry to pick on it) which will continue on and on until it's decided it isn't a viable money maker any longer. BB has a level of integrity in that it will conclude despite the fact that Gilligan and AMC could easily milk several more seasons out of it. You could argue that BB has never been more popular, and yet it's careening towards a cliff all the same. That's what makes it so damn exciting.

damn these writers for teasing us into thinking skylar is suicidal. totally got my hopes up with that swimming pool scene but shes just a stupid hoe after all. mike should find a reason to kill her.

i predict she will try to kill walt in the coming episodes. i mean that sure as hell sounded like a revolver being loaded at the very end of the last episode.

walt will probably have to end up killing her and will make it look like a suicide. it will fit the story shes been building up to the rest of the family, it makes sense.

Seems very possible at this point. There will some action coming up soon, that watch/gun cock isn't without meaning. BB is way too legit for foreshadowing like that to go without some intense follow up.

there has been a ton of suspense this season but it seems live every other episode is almost a place holder-a little disappointing actually,

Sundays was meh

last Sundays was awesome

2 Sundays ago meh

1st episode great,

This upcoming Sunday's should be awesome by he looks of it and if the trend continues

also its rare I've hated a character in any story as much as skyler.

I hate her fucking guts, too. Sooo annoying.

Still, I kind of think that Walt trying to keep his family together was one of the main reasons why BB was so thrilling. If he messes up with Skyler and Wj, noone's left to care about him going to jail or even die. The ambivalence of him behing a major cook and trying to protect his family is gone. He badly wants to be the boss now, forgetting about everything he used to care about. He's breaking bad too fast. It's hard to believe...

Hollyyy shitt. when they were in the middle of the robbery i said to myself, the kid on the dirt bike is going to see them. fuckin ehnow what?

ps lydia can get tha good dick

mike is fucking awesome, lol just noticed he was actually in one of the beverly hills cop movies a couple days ago on CC. he has hair!

this has probably already been addressed, but i don't really want to look through page(s) of responses to find the answer.

Walt said that water is denser than the methylamine, so technically the second they started pumping it in to the train container wouldn't it begin to sink to the bottom? then they would end up with the "watered down" chemicals....

sorry i'm a physics n00b so the answer is probably incredibly simple and obvious.

ha glad i'm not the only one who rips apart TV shows and movies. honestly BB doesn't seem to have that many holes in the story, so i figured it was a simple thing that i just somehow overlooked...but i thought about it for a couple hours today at work and cannot figure out a single solution.

huh thats a very good point.

my only explanation would be that they are so close in density that the water would sink down slowly and disperse itself into the methylamine enough that their methylamine from the bottom would remain relatively pure.

but you may have found a very rare BB logistics issue

Water and methylamine could be miscible with one another creating a homogeneous solution that would not split into distinct layers. My 2 cents, no idea if those 2 compounds are actually miscible though.

Pretty sure they are miscible actually, methylamine can h-bond with the water, and has very short hydrocarbon chain. So yea pretty sure that is why it "works".

Only complaint about last episode - Mike is not dumb enough to leave Walt alone with only a zip tie to keep him secure. Mike is better than that.

damn, did not see that coming. pretty bummed to see that happen to mike, definitely one of my favourite characters on the show

I watched the first two episodes of season one a few days ago, then the sixth of season 1. Can't believe I never watched this, those were so good. In the second one the drug dealer kid is a n00b for putting HF acid i the tub. Should have listened to the chemistry teacher.

Damn it, missed the first 2/3. Can someone plz spark note it for me? Or bullet points, doesn't matter.

+K for at least some incentive.

TY

wow.

holy fuck.

how am i supposed to wait till next summer for this shit to finish after that kind of ending?

Someone mind giving me a mini synopsis on the first 2/3 of S5 E8?

The one that just aired. I saw the ending, but missed most of it =[. Shit got real fast...

im surprised you'd even watch it if you started 2/3rds through. just wait till it's online somewhere and watch the whole thing, no sense in us spoiling it for you. so mad that there isn't another episode next week

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?! How am I supposed to wait until next summer for the next episodes?!?! What a way to end the season...errr end the first half to the season. Whatever.

According to a recent Vice interview with the creator, the next series of episodes aren't even written yet. General ideas, of course, but not fully written.

Honestly, I knew something was about to go terribly wrong, but I did not see that twist coming. I noticed the book from the earlier scene too but wasn't sure about the significance. Either way, God damnit I can't believe we have to wait 10 months for this shit ha. I suppose i'll just forget then get super stoked like a month before again.

It's sick because the episode was called 'Gliding Over All', which is one of WW's (Walt Whitman's) famous poems from Leave of Grass - the book Hank found on the toilet that Gale gave Walter. And the last line of said poem: “Death, many deaths I’ll sing” is a definite foreshadow/recollection of the murders and conspiracies Walter and crew has been involved with over the past few seasons

this show always ties things together so well

there is literally one person in the entire series that would notice that dedication was out of the ordinary and that person was hank. so im not surprised he just had it lying around. terrible luck yes but its about damn time. idk how hank is such a shitty dea agent. one of the things i hated about the show is how dumb and naiive he is at walts increasingly sketchy behavior. no joke i would have pinned walt as heisenberg back when walts class chemistry equipment was missing but im just happy something is finally going to fuck walt over. and can someone explain A. how walt had so much money in the storage locker when he was broke only a few weeks before. and B. why he was surprised at how much there was since he knows exactly what kind of dough he is pulling in. and i really dont want jesse to kill homself but that is mos def going to happen

this last episode spanned 3 months, while the past four seasons spanned the course of a year. hence all the dough. he finally achieved the smooth sailing that he was looking for this whole time, and thats what the cooking montage with todd and lydia putting meth in barrels was about. that was the first time they used a cook to progress time in that way.

and jesse didnt have the gun to kill himself, he had it in his back pocket incase he needed to kill Walt i believe. Walt just killed 10 guys to keep them from talking. If i were Jesse, I'd be afraid that i was number 11.

and Walt doesn't give two fucks about how much money he makes anymore. hes not in the meth business, hes not in the money business, hes in the empire business.
