hey i need some ideas of how to break my ipod without signs of physical abuse haha so i can warantee it and get an ipod touch. i have broken my ipod 3 times (hitting it while harddrive is spinning = ipod sad face) and i need an idea for the fourth time so it doesnt look so obvious after this final break i get a store credit towards a new ipod touch... help me out

the one im trying to get serviced is an ipod video 30gb not the nano thats in fine condish and i would be glad to give it up if neone wants it

are you fucking serious with me right now? you read the thread about the girl in the car crash and then you say you will give your ipod to someone else?! i hope you get coal in your stocking.

YEah hook the chick up with the nano. As for your video. I heard real strong magnets can fuck up somethin. Something like hardrive magnets.does that sound right to anyone.

drop it in the water and say you accedently went swimming and forgot to take it out of your pocket, [wh@] has done it multiple times with his phone.

water works well. or you can short the motherboard out. but that requires destroying a dock cable, or the female end of a USB cable. if you unlug it a bunch of times, when its updating. that can fuck it up. also if you enable hidden files on the disk view. and then just go mess aroound with codes, itll fuck it up.

give it to the chick

dont say you brought it in the water. say you were outside and it started to rain really hard and it got fucked up. If you say something like you put it in the washing machine or went swimming with it they wont cover it (They didnt for my phone at least) but they lady said if you were to leave it outside and it got rained on then they could cover it.

ya i guess they already got one but hey if i was that girl i would want 2 ipods lol my offer is still up but as for the other ipod someone help me out i heard something about the headphone jack but im not sure how to do that

Magnets won't really do anything but erase the hard drive, which is practically nothing, they won't replace it for that.

I wouldn't risk getting it wet. Alot of places won't replace electronics that have been harmed by water damage. They have water marks in the electronics that show if it has gotten wet and it voids your warrenty.

I have heard of problems with the headphone jack. Your best bet would probably be to unplug/plug in your headphones a ton and try and mess that up, you could also do the USB thing, cause if that gets messed up then it could also be warrantied.

It won't do anything, especially to a CD. CDs are optical, not magnetic. I doubt you'll be able to find a magnet strong enough to do anything to an iPod either.

ok bro i solved ur problem.. its something called electrostatic discharg. and it will pwn computer's motherboard so it pwns ipods too. u gotta take it appart but make sure to do it well so the company or what ever dosent see it.. now rup ur self in liek warm blankets and take the ipod inthere with u. basicly u can jerk off or soemthign with ur ipod...(ipod sex) and then u tuch tghe motherboard. if u can see a shock or get a shock it has worked. it akes barley anything to fuck it up... good luck man

that doesn't break it. Whenever my old Ipod would freeze and get stuck on the sad face icon, I would put it in the freezer for a day or so, take it out and recharge the battery and it would work for a few weeks before getting fucked up again.

If you freeze and thaw the screen you can possibly get it to crack. i Left mine in my car overnight then put in my pocket and the screen cracked. But it was like 1 degree out that night.

After hearing all this stuff, I would imagine that the apple people arent stupid. I would definitely be careful in how you do this so there are no marks to void your warranty...

i wonder if you got a ton of static electricity built up and then touched it if it would break because i just did that to my light switch and it hurt. might be enough to mess some stuff up in an ipod

Ive broken a few and had them all warrentied.

One of them i just ate shit while skiing with it and it started making a weird clicking noise. They gave me a new one. So i would suggest you just drop it a few times and see if it gets wrecked.

You could also try transferring a file to it and then unpluging it. That should corrupt the disk. That is also something they'll warrenty.

haha i guess that might work. the metal on the back might look burned from the sparks when it was in the microwave. lol the guys at apple would see burn marks and b like WTF?

just drop it maddd times. not from like real high or anything so there are any marks, but if you drop it a lot it will break. my buddy has dropped his video on accident and gotten 2 new ones. he did it the third time and is doing the same thing you are...it's been 4 weeks and no check from apple or anything, so it should be coming soon. ill update you with how it went haha.

reformat it to a mac or a pc if its synced to a mac. thats what happened to ine and then it stopped working...

alright well im trying this method of the electrostatic discharge but i cant seem to get any freakin shocks lol it seems like when i dont try i get sparked all the damn time but know when i try i cant get anything.... any other successful breaks???

this will work for sure, take a nail or somethin or somethin strong that will fit in the headphone jack. just stick it in there and wiggle it around and push shit around inside. keep doing it till when you plug your headphones in, it will be really crappy sound and all sketchy. you can just say you put your headphones in one time and the sound quality went to gay.

just to let you know... they will replace your ipod with the same ipod you already have, they arent going to just give you an ipod touch or any other upgraded version. and you are an idiot for even thinking that

my headphone jack got fucked up and i just said it just did it for no reason and they warrantied my 30 gig vid

just to let YOU know the PSP policy is they warantee the ipod 3 times and the 4th time they send it in to get verified that it is broken and they give you an instore credit towards a new mp3 player so your an idiot to assume that bullshit. this is my 4th time so i get an instore credit + a little extra cash and the touch is mine....
