I went to a camp just like that because i was into drugs, alcohol, stealing, etc. we did all tha same stuff like hiked, ate plain oatmeal for breakfast, and other outdoorsy shit. it actually wasnt so bad after the first few weeks. but after that i was sent to boarding school for 2 years.

I have a few (read: a ton of) friends who got kicked out of my boarding school and went to programs like that.

I almost was sent to one called Cascade, but then they decided rehab would be better. So then I sobered up and now I dont even have to go to detox! yay!

it makes me laugh, these kids cry while many kids would love to be able to go on a wilderness adventure.

My idea of a camp for disfunctional teens is to make a treeplanting camp. These kids pay you to plant trees, a very hard job that requires self motivation and discipline. Even if they don't plant many trees, you give rewards if they do. You give a beer to the person who planted the most, etc. It's a get rich quick plan.
