Brand Recognition

How important is brand recognition to you guys when your skiing? How important to you is it that you are wearing saga, Armada, LDC and so on?

everyone has their brands that they tend to favor but i think it all comes down to if it keeps you warm, dry and is comfortable it works for me. im willing to pay more for Oakley not becasue its Oakley but because they make quality shit.

brands dont affect me at all but i have all the jiberish, 7 pairs of crowbars, saga, fulltilts and a subaru.

i have bonfire pants, north face jacket from the 90's, a boeri race helmet with chin gaurd, and tecnica boots

I know that the brands that I look for have a good blend of quality and value.

Subaru= Snow beast that will run forever

Bluehouse= Small company, cheap, great service, great skis

Dynastar/look/rossi bindings= need I explain?

LDC= Small company, great style, good price

I love what all of the companies I support stand for.

I like to have nice stuff, but I don't really care what brand it is. I think that a lot of people can tell nice gear from shitty gear, but few can actually tell what brand you're rocking on the hill unless the name is plastered all over or it's really recognizable like Saga or Crowbars.

Brand recognition does make an impact on what I buy. I won't buy north face because its what all the preps at my school wear but I would consider an established brand with good quality such as orage, armada, etc that is more supportive of freeskiing. I also support smaller companies such as EC headwear because I like the fact that they arent some huge corporation but a group of guys that had a great idea and ran with it. But the price is often what impacts me more than anything else, because no matter how cool the brand is I still have to pay for it

I could give a fuck what brand I'm wearing. What I do care about is how the clothing looks. If it looks sick, I don't care about the brand at all. But clothes that look sick and name brands tend to go hand in hand.

alright but i think that is still kinda brand recognition. would you buy your coat at walmart? prob not. im just as guilty of this as anyone else thats why i said you have to be fooling yourself if you dont think it affects your decision.

i feel like shit like this is more prevalent in stuff like skiing/snowboarding/skateboarding.

My whole setup is Special Blend and I don't feel out of place. It's nice and cozy. It was a really good deal too.

A walmart coat probably won't be very good quality, so no I wouldn't buy one. Brand names and quality often go hand in hand as well.

i'm down for any brand really. I like to wear things that keep me warm, dry, and comfortable. I've got an old beat ass siver cartel jacket and some ronin pants that are dope as hell. thats just what i ended up with somehow, I think I got them both for christmas.

Not at all, I have an xl black oakley jacket i got on sale for like 90 bucks and xl brown salomon snowpants i got for 20 bucks brand new from a friend who rides for them, no logos on me anywhere except for oakley goggles, but ive been repping those since the beginning

id rather have solid colors with little or no brand labels on them. i dont like ldc that much because they write LETHAL DESCENT or LDC all over their shit and you start to look like a clone.

Oh snap!

personally i hate all the kids at my mountain that have full tilts, saga, and afterbangs pretty much only because of hype.

there are brands i like and brands i dont like, and thats the only thing that concerns me: if im wearing a brand that i support (and that isnt totally played), i could really give a shit what people say.
