I have the devil and god are raging inside me, does anyone have the other albums? are they good?
 
I like them. I am sure some kids are way too cool and indie for them, but I dont give a shit. I love me some emo shit. Seriously, I love it.
 
I have heard some of the stuff from the older album that's more of a generic or popular sound, but the album "The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me" is a masterpiece. Got it a year ago and every song is in my top 25 most played in itunes.
I really want some of the other stuff
 
The Devil and God is definitely a different sound than their older stuff, but in my opinion all their albums are good. One of my favorite bands for sure.
 
yea the devil and god are raging inside me is REALLY good!!!

it took me awhile to like it tho cuz its so different from thier older stuff.

but deja entendu is a really good album as well
 
brand new is my favorite band and has been for a while. their albums have defnitely "grown up" as they got older. their first one is really poppy sounding but it's nonetheless good if you're in the mood. deja entendu is even better, because it's sound is deeper maybe more like an in-between of the one before and one after. and the devil and god is rediculously good once you realize the lyrics. i hated it at first and then i warmed up to it, and then i sat there and read lyrics and i fell in love all over again. their old stuff is good, but i like the songs from Deja Entendu more than Your Favorite Weapon.. so i'd say look up songs from Deja first if you like Devil and God
 
I would have to say "Your Favorite Weapon" is one of my all time favorite albums. I just started to get back into Brand New, such good music. "Sudden Death in Carolina" and "Seventy Times 7" are top brand new songs.

Honestly, "the Devil and God are Raging inside me" does not compare at all to Deja Entendu or Your Favorite Weapon. Old shit always prevails.
 
Oh man brand new is my all time favorite band. I have every song and album by them. My favorite is Deja Entendu its their second album. Your Favorite Weapon is their first album and its more upbeat then the other two. But you should definately get them.
 
that's why I like The Devil and God too.
I think it's all pretty good, you can tell they are going in that direction in deja entendu, but The Devil and God is a giant step above.
 
deja entendu will always be one of my top albums, as will the devil and god are raging inside me, your favorite weapon takes me back to freshman year of high school a little too much though, but it's still a solid album. My only gripe with brand new is the fact that when i've seen them live (about 7 times total) the more they grew in popularity the more bull shit they spewed into their sets, like 10 minute guitar solo's for 3 songs straight gets old pretty fast, i always loved how they stood against taking back sunday though, brand new keeps the scene true, t.b.s. destroys it

ever been to a matisyahu show?
i mean, it's cool but they jam the fuck out. RARELY do they ever do a song all the way though, ever. but it's still way sick, i dig the jams.
never been to a brand new show. maybe some day. if they ever come to SLC i'll be there.
 
gotta get tickets quick usually, maybe not so much in SLC, but in the northeast there's a shit ton of scene kids and brand new has a huge following, i think the last show i got tickets for i waited in line for two hours, there were people camping out the night before
