Brakes breaking!

I have been skiing maybe 15 times this year and i have probably stopped 6-7 skis flying down the park because the brakes snapped off. What is causing the brakes to break off from the ski? And its not always from big falls off jumps, sometimes its from falling off rails.

last year my brake bent so when i ejected the break got caught on the ski so i messed up a swup one day and my ski went into the woods ahah

If you land switch and your brakes catch on the snow, they can't bend toward your tips so they snap off.

how far do you lean over for your bindings to touch the snow? You must practically be laying down on it when you land.

that hapened to me twice and it messed up my bindings so i got new ones and just raised the DIN it solved everything

I've had it happen once when I was carving switch really hard on a groomer with a brake that was slightly bent. Also if you're landing switch on a big jump and your ski ejects and the brake sticks into the snow sometimes the ski will have enough momentum by itself to snap off the brake.

welcolm to the most comon equipment failure in skiing, the thing is we have to deal with it because there are just no solutions for now exept luck

Funny you should post this. On Saturday my heel piece ripped out and the toe piece had already lost a screw and the others were loose. On the other ski a screw was coming loose on the heel piece.

my brakes snapped too after messin up a 5....nothin more entertaining than watching ur ski go flyin down the mountain and into the woods...and watchin ur dad chase after it lol.

if you bend your brakes to fit your skis sometimes they stick out a little far or are off a little bit, especially with fks brakes they can hook while riding switch and snap off. i just tweak mine around when they're on my ski to get them over the topsheet and up off the snow to avoid that

I've broken two brakes, not sure why it happens but it always happens when I'm riding switch and it's always really fucking annoying.

yea is happened to me twice and the last one was two weeks ago.
but i just went to my local ski shop and brought my brake and ask if they had an extra screw laying around that fits the brake(cause the screw broke snap when i crashed landing switch) and i just screwed the brake back on the binding my self all costing nothing and it working fine for me so far
