God damn I am getting braces April 4th. They suck so bad. Anyone else have/had them? Geez this is going to suck like crazy. They said a definite solid 2 years, no shorter.

to be completely honest with you, im sorry bro, your gonna look like a jackass for about 3 weeks, then you and everyone around you will just get used to it, it will become apart of you and wont be awkward at all, but those first couple days fuckign suck, but it will pay off cuz chicks dig a pearly white straight grill.

ive got another version of the pole dangle, its pretty funny too, gets cold when i do it on the lift tho.

enjoy the permante scars that they will leave on the inside of your mouth. I had braces for 6 years. One thrid of my life. You are in for some pain... let me tell you. And the things they tell you not to eat will blow your mind. Your diet is going to suck. and whenever they tighten them... well i guess when they tighten them its not too bad cause then you get to eat soup, applesauce and icecream for the rest of the week....

they're actually not that bad. i had mine for 2 and a half years and they never hurt. plus, you end up with straight teeth in the end, so it's all good.

 
i had them, and you get used to them. when you get em off though, it's sooooo sweet. my teeth were a freaking mess, and now they're pretty nice. a bit off though, but i'm really glad i had them. totally worth it

I had to get them put back on last year (9th)... Where those god damn rubber bands!! I don't and know i'm at least 6months over when they were supposed to come off... It's not that bad though

I had mine for just over a year in grade7/8. The only part that sucks is if you get hit in the face cuz the braces cut your inner lip. Happened to me skiing.

i had braces when i was 13 or 14 or whenever, and now i have em again in my 20's due to some jaw surgery that i had. so ive had em on for exactly a year, and will have em for probably another month or so.

just take solace in the fact that you dont have to have your jaw wired shut. i had that for a month and a half. you think braces are bad? not even close to being wired shut.

i had mine grades 6,7 and 8, but believe me, they are worth it all the way... the first month sucks though your mouth hurts like crazy, especially if you need rubber bands for an over bite... but you get used to them, and the feeling of getting them off is just, i don't know, so rewarding... be strong, and may the canker sores be with you!

I have braces right now. It sucks for the first 3 days because it feels like you are an android and have massive metallic bulge sin yoru mouth, then you get used to it and you dont care. It doesn't even look awkward cause everyone and their dog has them. Also, it hurts for like 1 day when you get them tightened, and you can eat whatever you want, it doesn't matter. Seriously its no big deal. I get mine off this summer and I have only had them since summer. I'm lucky, plus my teeth were really messed up before.

i had them for a year and a half and it wasnt that bad... people said i could pull it off and it wasnt so obvious that i had them... i mean they didnt stand out... so i still got ass and a great girlfriend so its all about how you can pull em off... and yeah rubber bands do suck... thus why i had them for a year cause i never wore them i was only supposed to have them for 6 months... ah fuck it when you got em off youll be happy you had them

yeah i had them 9th and 10th grade, and they dont hurt when u get them on, they start to hur like 1/2 hour after and u basically cant touch ur teeth for about 3 days after, so take alot of advil. but let me tell you, u will look at least two years older once you get them off. so thats a plus

It's not really as bad as Thom says. I had mine for about 3 years, and yeah, the first week or so is hell because your teeth are horribly fucked, AND they have pieces of metal glued onto them, AND everyone around you is going "You got braces?! Smile! Let's see them!!"... which is pretty annoying.. But after a week or two your teeth will have already made pretty good progress, and you'll hardly even notice they're there after about a month. Just ask for lots of wax.......

I hade braces 2 years in 7-8th grade. I hated them. I got them in the morning, then that afternoon went on a trip to Philly....philly has the BEST steak and cheese saandwiches ever, and I couldn't eat them becuase my mouth hurt so bad. They only hurt when you get them on, and when they tighten them the first few times. other then that, it's not bad. just annoying because food gets stuck in them, and you can cut your moutn easily

Really? I used a lot of wax... the hooks on the outside of the molars killed my cheeks.

I had mine from 8-10 (3 years). They say you can't eat gum, chewy candy OR hard candy, and a bunch of other things... I just ate whatever I wanted anyways.

thom was a nerdy kid in elementary school. I never knew him with braces, but that would be really funny. I never had braces. Only bad acne. Anyone who had both braces and really bad acne want to tell us which was worse?

I have braces right now, its been 3 months about, and I got them tightened today, and they hurt alot...

but you become used to it, and its not all that bad...the only time it sucked is when you get them on because your teeth hurt and when you get them tightened because you get a headache

you are kind of lucky. my teeth are so damn straight, but i was too little to get braces until i was a junior. i didn't want to have them for when i am a senior pimp. oh well, the chick think it's cute i guess.. although i think it's fucking gay.

does anyone know if you need braces to fix a little gap in your 2 front teeth? or can you get a ratainer? or that invisaline thing..?

i dont know i mean sure i got hit a few times but i never could find the wax so i never used it and i kinda dealt with it like that... i mean and like they never really hurt and everyone said that they would.. i dont know i guess my teeth didnt need that much realignment..
