Bozeman ski mount

I go to chalet, and haven't had any problems with mine.

Roundhouse's mounts have pulled out once for me though.
 
Ph. D skis has the mount warranty, if they rip out you get to choose any ski from their rack, that being said it was also 150$ to mount 2 pairs which was crazy
 
woahh 150 bucks. crazy. go to chalet, and if you need them in a hurry, bring a 6 pack with your boot and skis. you'll get them back super fast..
 
I've always gotten mine mounted at Chalet, although i think I got one pair done at REI recently.

I used to buy everything from Ph.D, but when Kevin handed me a bill of $150 for two mounts, I decided he'd taken quite enough money from me. I couldn't find any lift tickets or cocaine with either pair of skis, so suffice to say I was ripped off.

They were the only place in town with wide tyrolia brakes last year when I needed my bent's mounted. They charged me $120 total for the brakes and the mount. Fucking ridiculous. Place is a fucking ripoff.
 
Does Chalet actually mount where you want them to? I have had a lot of problems with not getting mounted true center when thats what I explicitly tell them
 
The last time I had a mount done at Chalet, it was a pretty obscure one (prototype Wrenegades with FKS 155's), and they did a great job. I did have them marked already, but that's something you should probably do anyway with specific mounting instructions.

Yeah! I've had two mounted, and two remounted (due to new boots) and they've done them perfectly for me. You def need to point out where you want them done, and see if they'll mark it in front of you.

I had this happen to me on my Line TC's. They told me "the center marking on the ski is true center" which it is supposed to be, but wasn't exactly on my skis. They're about a 1/4 inch off. I know it's not a big deal, but it still bugs me. I even took them back and they wouldn't remount. I'm not going there again but do what you want.
 
One thing about "true center" mounting points

a lot of skis nowadays have "true center" or "center" marked points. Some are actually dead center, but most are the center of the core, or sidecut. LINE park skis center marks are dead center of the ski. Whereas a FACTION center mark on their ski is 2.5cm behind the dead center of the ski. They are referring to the center of their sidecut.

My suggestion, when you go to a shop and want it anything different than what is printed on the ski, mark it yourself... Or better yet, talk to the tech doing the work and have them mark it with you.
 
PhD sucks. Called em about getting some brakes for my bindings and they said yea they will be receiving those exact parts this week and the dude sounded super confident about them being the right ones. Went in at the end of the day that they told me to and the first guy I talked to just flat out told me no, they don't have them and didn't know anything about a shipment. It looked like it was his first day. Shop dude said yea they actually have them and I gave him my heel piece and old brake to make sure. They didn't even have 115s, just 97s. Whatever, those will work so i got em. He didn't give me my heel piece or old brake back so I asked and he just gave me my heel piece. I said I needed my brake too, he was like you didn't give me a brake. I said, yea I did, he said are you sure? He then had to go digging through a box of brakes to find 5 that looked the same as each other and I had to try and remember which one was mine. Whatever I thought, he's prolly had a long day.

Took the new brakes to Chalet where my skis were to get mounted yesterday. I got a call from them today saying they drilled em but the brakes didn't fit on. They weren't even the right ones. The fuck man I am pissed haha I never wanna deal with PhD again.

TL;DR Chalet > PhD

Seriously. There's a reason I'm buying a helicoil kit and a mounting bit on my next paycheck. Will tune/mount/fix skis for beer.
 
As far as tunes/heliocoils/AT mounts go, check out summit. I don't think they can drill for alpine bindings because they're not official dealers but I would trust them to do the job right.
 
I'll probably get downvoted for this, but I love the shop at Bob Wards. Everyone is super chill, a six pack gets you helped out immediately, and they do a great job. Also took some new Full Tilts with Intuitions in the other day (bought them online), and they heat molded them for free. They cost way less than and PhD and Roundhouse, and I haven't had any problems.
 
i cant believe the cost to mount a pair of skis. especially in bozo, its much more expensive than here in great balls.

But its relatively simple to mount them yourself. i wont ever have a shop mount my skis again.

Yup! A good ski drill bit costs under $15, and all you need after that is some glue/epoxy and a printer.
