Boycott the NBA, if you haven't already

I grew up a huge fan of the NBA, and it has obviously gone downhill over the years for many reasons, but the fact that the Seattle Sonics are heading to Oklahoma is the last straw. I'm from Seattle, so many of you may say I'm biased, but in this case I really think that everyone should agree that David Stern is the antichrist and that this never should have been allowed. He is best buddies with Clay Bennet and supported the move from the beginning, and it just doesnt make sense to move a team with so much history to fucking Oklahoma. So, until David Stern is fired, and more importantly, castrated, I refuse to support anything NBA related. Who's with me?
 
the NBA is a business first and foremost, they are not moving the sonics for no reason is cuz they think they will make more $$$$$ in oklahoma city. it sucks that you are getting fucked over cuz your team is moving away. Also you should boycott the city not the nba because as far as i know the main reason for the move is because the city wont help build a new arena.
 
i can feel your pain being from sacramento, i see whats happening with the sonics and it looks like the kings future if the city cant get its act together to put up a new arena...
 
well i dont understand how the move makes sense for the nba ( i understand how it makes sense for the owners) because i belive seattle is like the 14th lagest tv market in the country and oklahoma city is like the 48th. but hey you guys just built the mariners a nice new stadium and the seahawks a new one the sonics were feeling left out..

but on this one i have to say who cares, the nba is just a league of un educated thugs trying to showboat! if maybe they would call traveling and allow a full zone d. but untill then i can do with out the nba .
 
no, the city was given 2 months to come up with an arena plan. they rejected bennet's cause it was rediculous and he didn't offer to pay any money toward it (something like 80% tax funded). and then one plan was rejected for being too far from downtown despite being only 15 minutes down the interstate from bennet's proposed site. also, stern is not happy with the current deal at key arena is the main reason, since the city wouldn't agree to restructure a deal he signed in the first place. now bennett is being sued for breach of contract by the person he bought it from (shultz CEO of starbucks) cause he was supposed to make an effort to keep the team in seattle, no try to move it after one season.
 
the 90's were badass for the NBA...The Jazz vs the Bulls...Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, Olajuwon, Clyde the Glide, and of course Jordan. Now I don't even follow it at all.
 
there was a lull there after MJ retired, but I feel like it is now back to almost that point with the talent that is in the league now. Kobe, Lebron, Melo, D-Wade, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Dwight Howard etc are all young guys that will only get better in the future. And that doesn't include some of the vets that are still fun to watch,Iverson, KG, Nash, Shaq to a degree, etc. I'm more excited about the NBA than I have been since MJ retired (from the Bulls).
 
What the new sonics owners were asking for was lucrative, both on a time scale and in terms of cost. Roughly $300 million for a fucking renovation? That's astronomical. Their quickly deceased proposal for a site out of Seattle was around half a billion. Not very reasonable. So fuck em. NBA is shit anyway (an unnecessary opinion but whatever).
 
Bingo. The NBA is boring and there are VERY few players who are truly 100% out there to win. That's why I love NCAA basketball. Isn't NCAA basketball more popular than NBA?
 
there's no way college football is more popular than the NFL. I think it's dumb that the sonics are moving, the owners and the city need to come to some kind of an agreement, because the Oklahoma Super Sonics just doesn't work for me.
 
utah polygymists are calling for people to boycot the jazz/rockets games this weekend in slc. they are also telling people to go to the houston rockets hotel rooms and try and talk to the players about why their state is terrible for removing all those kids from the YFZ ranch this month.

what a stupid ass thing to do.
