It's interesting to hear morons comparing this to the tsunami... couple hundred thousand dead there, guys. How many here? And since we're on the subject of international response, I thought it was interesting to hear some random people overseas'
opinions on the media coverage... Brit friend of mine had this to say:
"I searched for this on a news site and I saw two quotes from people there
"this is what hiroshima would of looked like 60 years ago..."
"this is our tsunami"
WHAT THE FUCK?!
Nuclear clouds of radioactive dust that will poison the country forever.
Thousands dead and still dfying from the effects of the blast.
the complete lack of buildings and any sign of life for miles around the impact.
Yep thats just like it. In fact in the pictures I can see the mushroom cloud...
I was waiting for the fucking tsunami comments to start. THOUSANDS DIED IN THAT and they had no chance to evacuate...
This is devastating and I am sad to hear it but I hate people making fucking stupid comments like that.
They had warnings, they were able to evacuate and they are expecting 300 dead.
I suppose though if you consider that they are american and good white folk that they count for a hundred dirty indonesians.
I cannot believe the downright ignorance of people.
It fucking disgusts me.
Good old Channel 4 news had this to say: "they are already calling it their tsunami, but in reality it's not indoneisa but the wealthiest country in the world, and the death toll is in the hundreds and not the hundreds of thousands that died in the indian ocean disaster."
I'm Glad the English at least have some sense of perspective."
Australian girl:
"American ignorance and self-importance, that's one of the reasons the majority of the non-american world dislikes you. Maybe if you can manage to get over that, things will change.
Yes, September 11 was bad, but the tsunami killed many many more people, yet which got the most publicity? I hate how people, and the media, sensationalise things. Yes, there's a hurricane, it's flooding NO - you knew, you could have left. It in no way compares to the tsunami. It's traumatic to lose your home, but if this turns into another national tragedy in an attempt to garner worldwise sympathy and a public holiday, I'm out. Fuck knows I'm glad I'm not American."
Again, not my words, but maybe that explains in some part why you haven't had a whole lot of cash pouring in from overseas. Pretty bitter stuff. And you guys have had aid offered... but apparently for administrative purposes it's been deemed best that the matter should be handled by US authorities. Which to me makes sense; considering the chaos, organization down there is probably the most important thing. There is adequate manpower to handle the situation, according to the director of FEMA in an interview I saw last night, and there aren't going to be massive starvation/dehydration-related deaths, and the government is working on ways to provide people with shelter... so let's just say it's not quite as desperate as a disaster that claimed the lives of thousands upon thousands, and those of you making such dramatic comparisons need to stop and think for a minute, because it's not like your citizens are somehow "worth more", and it's not like the disaster is worse just because it happened to the good ol' U.S. of A.

"Most guys know that women dig guys with money. Would Donald Trump be fucking models if he wasn't rich? That question is rhetorical. Now I don't even believe this is wrong, I think it is just nature. But I also think women who are this way (and it is almost all of you) should be honest and admit that they are basically whores, and stop saying bad things about the so-called "actual whores" who are just trying to earn an honest living."
