No problem.....We will get through this.....and the next time there is a tidal wave or nazis pounding your asses...call us, we'll be there.

Oh and how many hospital ships or UN troops are coming to help?? hmm...nada.

For those that don't know...70,000 homes are gone forever. Mostly poor people. Daybreak will tell what is left. Insurance loss is at least 25 billion. Thats 25 billion folks!! and that's sure to go up.

I didn't even touch on the death toll...shocking how the world repays us!!!

Well the bush administration totally fucked us over on this one. If we still had that nice surplus, instead of a staggering defecit, and a few NG around, we'd be ok.

supachronic-we've never had a surplus ever since we've been a country there's been debt but in theory the debt isn't the bad part the bad part is the economy which the president has little control over i think that you guys should all look up allan greenspan and find out what HE is doing to help the economy since he is the most powerful man in the world (finnancially)

Sorry, but I believe that the the U.S is more than capable of taking care of this crisis than any other country. What the hell do you want Canada to do? What would the money really amount to? You have more than enough resources to handle this. Now is the time to show that investing SO FUCKING MUCH in the army rather than education or health is a good decision. If you believe in your country's ideals, then does the U.S army really need a few Canadian soldiers? I'm not joking around, though this is really serious.

But just by curiosity, yes, money was promised to aid the victims of the tsunami (estimated 180, 000) but what did you send over there, really? I'm not saying it isn't important... I'd just like to know.

yeah, if the money was put to other uses than oil, im sure there is enough funding for everyone. But it would be nice for sure to help the us, because it is true, they have brought help to a lot of countries, like france, which I doubt will send help. Bush hates the UN because he asks them for financial favours that are refused to him, so no surprise if they dont bring any help

canadian ski god...first off we spend the most money on the army then any other country you know why? because people don't want to join so we are making technoligical advances everyday that replace human lives with robotoics and yes we do spend way too much but another thing YES candian money will help so much anything these people can get will help god forbid something happened in Canada we would be right there why do you have to be against US? and yes we sent so many god damn peace corps people to the tsunami and we sent more relief then any other country yes we ahve more to spare but our thoughts are good other people just don't see them the same way we do

hate to burst your bubble but already 24 countries have said they are here to help.. i agree everythign has been to slow and the number of people dead are going to be catastrofic(spelling), but this is bigger then 9/11 and thats hard for to say cause being from right outside the city i no ppl who still today r messed up b/c of it, but that was one block and this is an entire city. alot of ppl dont realize the ppl u c sleeping in the superdome thats all they have, they have nothing any more they were poor ppl that lost everything they had as little as it may have been, so yes we do need all the countries we can get

I’ve been reading a lot of your posts in these threads. While you can be on the ball when it comes to a bigger picture, you are miles off when you go into details.

The example I’m going to single out is your rationale for military spending. How can you rationally conclude that less people in uniforms are forcing to push military technology? It makes no sense. It just doesn’t work that way. It’s the other way around. It’s not because they need to compensate for less troops, it’s so they kill and destroy things more efficiently. Why send real people into and open field of combat when you can just use lifeless machines. The less troops your side loses, the better. The idea of winning a war is to inflict the most damage possible on your enemies, while preventing as many casualties as possible for you.

Sorry I had to pick at that, but stuff like that really peeves me.

yea i was just thinking about this this morning...it seemed like the entire world rushed to help the tsunami acouple of months ago and now once something has hit the united states no one is comin to the aid. i dont understand why the government cant bring everyone of out louisana and bring them to texas or somewhre. it seems like they havent done everything as fast as possible

There is adequate manpower to handle the situation, according to the director of FEMA in an interview I saw last night, and there aren't going to be massive starvation/dehydration-related deaths, and the government is working on ways to provide people with shelter... so let's just say it's not quite as desperate as a disaster that claimed the lives of thousands upon thousands, and those of you making such dramatic comparisons need to stop and think for a minute, because it's not like your citizens are somehow "worth more", and it's not like the disaster is worse just because it happened to the good ol' U.S. of A.

u wrote alot so i only got up to the part about ppl were warned and could evacuate.... thats not true simply becasue the people who didnt evacuate were the poorest of ppl who would have no place to go.. if u have nothing were are u going to take it?.. also it does compare to the tsunami in the fact that there is no possible estimation right now of how many could b dead... the number will reach the thousands
