so im supposed to box this giant guy at a keg and i havent had much boxing experience. ive boxed a few guys my size but no one a lot bigger than me. whats your advice?inb4 dont do it. i kinda have to now

boxing has weight classes for a reason...If he is a lot bigger than you, I would just wear him out, boxing is fucking hard, just throw a few jabs and move a lot, let him throw punches, move around a lot. If he doesn't box either he will be dead in a minute or two, then you can attack, just make sure you don't use too much energy before then.

i read this book once about a kid named peekay and he won every fight. just read that book and acquire knowledge.

sorry only advice i can give. also the book is like 400 pages with small print.

okay so most big guys are not as fast or mobile so if you move around a lot and through some quick combos in there you will tire him out and he will drop his guard...then you strike i like a solid 1 2 3 combo left jab, right straight punch, left hook or uppercut. however, bigger kids can usually bang so keep your chin tucked and your hands up and your elbows in...and the biggest thing is never turn your back..o yeah and this is basic but never stand square a little open stance i found is more powerful but you have to know what you are doing hope you win

lol, i thought you meant you were literally boxing a person. like you were going to ship them out of the country.

Well, since a keg is pretty heavy, I suggest a pretty sturdy box, and lots of packing peanuts. How far are you planning to ship it? Internationally?

if he's tall and has long arms, get in close. if he's just big but not particularly tall, tire him out. if you've boxed before you know it fucking hurts, just take the punches like a man and eventually he'll get tired which is when you take him down.

hes like 6' 4" and 250 lbs. ive seen him play basketball. hes really fuckin slow. im like 6' 135 lbs and pretty quick

Ur karma fluctuates so much from me. Sometimes i hate u, then times like this i give u 10/10.

dude fuck boxing, drive towards him with speed when the fight starts he wont know what you're trying to do, crouch down and with your head on the left side of his hip bang him with your shoulder into his waist and throw your arms behind his his legs and pull them up and drive through with all your strength like a rugby tackle, at this point your adrenaline should be pumping and you will be in a position to get a few clean shots to his jaw/head with your right hand, then if he covers his face or tries to protect his head punch him as hard as you can in his stomach/side//obliques and maybe stomp on him if you can.

i used to play rugby and im not very big at all ( 5'8 around 145 pounds) but you can tackle the biggest motherfuckers if you commit and take them down using your shoulders and pull their legs out.

good luck man.

yes an all time classic fighting move however if the guy really is as big as he says and he is as small as he says it will probably not work out plus i think this is not a fight but a scheduled boxing match? like a fight night maybe i could be wrong though

this guy gets it...although i love boxing bigger guys its more fun but ive kind of switched to more MMA now and its easier for me to hold my own with bigger opponents with the groundwork...if the OP has the option id try to do some take downs

good choice, honestly its really gonna be all about how well you can take getting your bell wrung. To be honest your chances of actually knocking him out/having him give up isnt very good, so I would honestly just try to put up a fight until both of you are too tired to swing and everyone will break it up, and everyone will be impressed with the fact that you have lasted as long as you did. If its your first time getting your bell wrung (no football/rugby/lacrosse experience) then just hope you have a good chin. Follow the rest of the advice, but the bottom line is you are going to get hit cleanly considering you have never boxed before and its really just gonna be a matter of if your body can take it and if you can fight through it

This, you will crush him. Also keep moving...if he is actually slower than you then he will tire out very quickly. Once he tires out do some jabs to the stomach and try to get him to lower his guard to try to block them(he probly will since he is inexperienced). Then throw a quick jab straight to the nose this will get him on his heals then you can just start throwing whatever you want at him.

I've never got into boxing but my dad used to be a golden glove and taught me a good amount about it.

keep your hands up. I always laugh at people that don't protect themselves and leave their arms by their side while they're talking shit. I'd rather look like a pussy and have my hands up for protection than have them down by my sides leaving myself wide open. The guys that say "go ahead, fucking hit me then" are people that have never been in a fight before and are guaranteed to get knocked out.

also, throw straight punches. round house punches don't have nearly the power and then you leave yourself wide open

All I could do was shake my head at this. I am 5'8 155, I love to fight. But there are certain fights you just shouldn't do and you my friend are going to get worked. like yeah yeah people are saying 'move around quickness keep your dukes up' which is all well and good. But you may fail to realize the actual strength gap between you two. Even if he has no idea what he is doing and is just throwing fat hooks and you try and block them it will still be a heavy hit. Your little pencil arms wont do much blocking against that type of force.
You will more than likely lose the fuck out of this fight, but I have fought a kid that was about 6'1 220 and kicked the shit out of him. Granted it wasn't boxing and it was an actual fight and I was a wrestler for quite some time. I took him out with a right hook to the jaw followed by a left straight to the nose.
Try and get him in the nose and jaw. No matter how big a dude is getting punched in the nose blurs your vision with tears, and you could be andre the giant and have a glass jaw and gt taken the fuck out.
Good luck, I want to say I have faith in you coming out on top, but I don't.
Don't get yourself hurt, and don't feel obligated to box this dude, it's okay to walk away from it.

Good advice given, also remember to turn your hands over when you throw your punches and use your hips and legs. Thats where your power comes from. Turn your hips into the punch and drive your knee foward, Pivot with your back foot. Remember, as fast as you can throw your punch forward, you got to remember to bring your hands back to your starting position to be ready for your opponents counter. All else keep your hands up.

Wait, if it's actual boxing like gloves and in a ring and shit, then like others have said you're gonna want to tire him out. But if you try to tire him out and you don't have good cardio yourself he's gonna start throwing bombs that you may or may not have the energy to dodge.

If it's a street fight and you really don't want to fight the guy use everything around you. Not saying pick up a bat or some shit, just saying that there is no rules when it's a street fight and you aren't in agreement to fighting the guy.

I'd say you're pretty much fucked. Size never impacts a fight too much, unless neither of the people know what their doing.

its not exactly a street fight. theres gonna be gloves. if not im not doing it. and thank you all! +k. its tomorrow. ill post how it goes

pull a move like this

Being that I'm probably the only person that has actually knock people out on this site. Boxing tips if he's over 6 and over 230 he has no speed. The only way your going to win is an upper cut. Also if you box I'm sure you know about the window dot brake the window stay on the target and encourage those body shots wait for the opening and slam that uppercut. Sorry for the spelling I'm on moble

Being that I've never met that person no I haven't. why don't you sit down before I post that pic of your black eye from getting fucked up.

Ohhh nooooo! The picture that I, myself, posted on NS to get some laughs, from a time that I was blacked the fuck out! Go right ahead.

No it was from when I fucked you up. I figured since you're going to make up shit about a fight I've been in id do the same to you.

"round house punches don't have nearly the power"... no, just no.. A hook is gonna have a hell of a lot more power than a jab, the only reason you dont want to throw a shit ton of hooks is they are easy to block, will tire you out, and will open you up to counters
