Boxes to Rails help?

im pretty new to freeskiing.. what advice do u have for transitioning from boxes to rails.. i've tried both and i can do boxes easy but i'm a pussy and afraid im gonna eat it on a rail.. i know the basics, but im curious if i should go faster or slower?

speed helps becuase if the rail is sticky you can lose speed and then eat it

you need to commit and not pussy out or you will eat it

you gotsta make sure u land flat on the rail, especially with ur back foot flat. also, start on kinda wide rails then work ur way to thinner ones. also, if u think ur gonna puss out on the big rails, do the ones that are close to the ground so as not to nut yourself

you're not actually gona rember all this shit when your sliding the rail so just make sure you do 2 things:

- keep staring at the end of the rail even before you're on it, until you can pop off at the end

- go a little faster thna u feel comfortable going, because almost all the times ive fallen off a rail/box i was going too slow

yeah the faster you go the less friction of the rail you feel, but dont go to fast or else...

especially on rainbow rails. Riding too fast into a rainbow rail= complete disaster.

even if you eat shit its not that bad i've taken a good rib shot, shins, shoulder and so on but once you crash and stand up you realize its not nearly as bad as you had built it up in your mind so just try it get over that first one and build from it. good luck man

dont slide it really fast have a little more speed then you would for a box keep you weight way forward otherwise youll bust a hip think about it right before you are comin up to the rail then just do it.

^^^^ hahahahaha yah rainbow rails can have high consequences, especially when they set them up ride on for snowboarders, and you don't pop enough

 
i had the same problem but its in keeping bent knees adn not being afraid to fall. it doesnt hurt that bad after ahwhile you get used to it

Ya man up until this year i had the same problem, but i learned that faster onto a rail can really help you, but bend yur knees and keep yur feet apart, if you go to slow onto a rail u probably will stick and then munch bad, but you have to commit yurself to it and dont be a pussy, just go up to it and no that you on the rail and you shood do fine,
