In response to what_a_wookie, I fail to see how the fact that the columbine killers didn't actually go bowling is all that relevant. Its like blinds_blinds says, you can't poke any holes in the main thrusts of moore's arguments, the things that actually matter, so you go and pick holes in the things that he did to make his movie watchable. What does it matter if they went bowling or not? the main point is that in America disturbed kids like that can get their hands on automatic weapons which can't be a good thing. And also, about blaming the people who pull the trigger, generally we do, we put them in jail, but without guns it would have been a fuckload harder for them to kill so many people don't you think? Or a you trying to say that Americans are so deranged and homicidal that they will find someway to kill people no matter what?

because different people have different values. With wings, you dont only elect a president, you vote for what is your strongers sense of value. Right wing is based more on tradition, nationalism, isolationism and more power to the majority. Left wing focuses on helping out the minority, more freedoms, and more power to the government. Right wing tries to bring more power to the individual in charge of the government. Extremes for right wing is facism, left wing communism. Another reason why there is little center in US politics is that on average the majority of American want a stronger figurehead that has his lines completely clear.

i'm not saying there is a stereotype i'm just saying that it is stupid to say that having tougher gun legislation won't reduce the murder rate. You just need to look at every country that has tough gun legislation and murder, when compared to the US, is basically non-existent. And why is the make and model of the guns those kids used relevant? they got their hands on guns that allowed them to kill their classmates, isn't that enough?

whatawookie, if you completely break down left wing, than gun control shouldnt be there. Prohibition is a right wing idea, so is criminalizing weed. Also, britain has the most strict gun legislation out there, and the least gun related fatalaties of any industrialized countries. It was also a lot easier to smuggle alcohol, than weapons.

if britain is little US then how can you say gun legislation doesn't work? they have really strict gun laws and hardly any gun crime. If the US and britain are so similar then surely you could point to the gun legislation as the reason for the lack of gun crime?
