I made this same thread in ski gabber but this is probably a better place for it, anyways :
Hi, in January my dad is bringing me and a friend with him to boulder so while he works we will be able to ski big mountains cause we are from Quebec. First, I want to know if Eldora will have an okay park cause since my dad will be working he wont be able to bring us and I think this is the only mountain we can go by bus from Boulder?? Also I will be able to go ski at Breck or Key for one day so I wanted to know which mountain would be more fun for me to ski ski since in Qc I only ski small jumps and mostly rails. For the none ski activities is there a nice place I could go jumps on big tramps and other fun stuff to do in Boulder? and btw I am only 19 so bars are not an option in none ski activities.. Thanks

First off Eldora...while easy to get to and cheap Eldora will have a terrible park or no park at all.

However, they have some fun runs and good snow these days, but its not a big 'western' mountain...only a few lifts and short runs. I'd avoid it unless you can't get to Summit County (Keystone or Breck)

Between Keystone and Breck it doesn't really matter, both will be great and have tons of amazing jumps and rails. I'd suggest Keystone because it has a park specific lift but overall i enjoy breck more for cruising around the mountin.

In boulder, for tramps and what not check out Cats rock climbing gym....as for fun theirs a hookah bar on the Hill (broadway by the university), theirs an amazing skate park, one of the best venues for music around (The Fox), Pearl Street open mall, and if you want to party just go up to the Hill on a weekend and look for house parties....then walk in and be nice, normally not too big of a problem.

Eeek a Mouse and the Wailers are both playing at the Fox the first few weeks of January go to either for a great time.

Alright, only read the first part of your thing, but eldora sucks a lot. they currently have one flat box set up. its... how do you say it? horrible. it wont be any better then quebec im pretty sure, it is said that eldora is "the best east coast skiing in the west"

breck and key are both sick though

So far Eldora just has some boxes. Everyone always bags on dora but if you hit it on a good day I always have fun. Just letting you in on a little fun fact, Eldora is known for its wind. It gets nutz up there some days... It takes me 35 min. to get up to Eldora from the bottom of the Canyon and its an easy drive as long as the roads are good. Right now were lacking on snow and the whole mountain isn't open and there's no trees right now. Depending on when you come out and if you do backcountry theres sick chutes over Lost Lake if you hike 30 min from the back country gates at the top. Lift tickets are also pretty cheap at Eldora too. Breck is known for its park, but it sounds like you aren't the kind of skier who spends all day there, so I would say you should hit up keystone no doubt. Breck is good but not one of my faves, being a ColoRADo native and all haha, its runs are all short and I always feel like I spend most of the days on the chairs or waiting in lines at the park. Breck the town is sick though. I'm 18 and always have a good time there... Keystone is your mountain! long runs, good park, smaller lines, great backside! I'll def hit it up with you! Cool that I wrote a book.

avi danger is terrible right now, BC is pretty sketch, make sure you check CAIC before you go out

haha yea, I think that's what she meant.

Freeway has some hefty jumps, A51 at key is prime too.

Can't really go wrong...however, if you are going to lap park all day the dedicated lift at key might be nice.

half fast subs on the hill in boulder on thurs/fri/sat nights is always a safe bet for an alright time...different kids spin every night and you'll probably enjoy the music if you're like the rest of NS haha
