hey im a junior in hs, starting to look at colleges. Univ. of Colorado @ Boulder is one of my top choices, does anybody know how close it is to the mtns around there? I MUST be within an hour/45 min. of some mtns.

Ive never been to CO, im from washington so i dont know much about that area

the only area within 45 minutes of boulder is eldora and it suuuuuuucks. but copper, Breck, a basin , winter park , keystone , Vail and that new park area are about 1.5 hours

yeah boulder is sweet, i dont know about cu though ive heard the people at cu can be stuck up, thats just what my sister told me, cause she wanted to go there but thats part of why she didnt. go to colorado mountain college, you can go to breck, aspen, dillon, steamboat, vail, and i think more, id be so much cooler, i think im going there.

but why the hell are you thinking about college now?

YEAH CU. SO SO SO awesome. I love it here. Don't ever ever EVER listen to anyone who tells you to go to anywhere in Colorado besides CU and DU. The rest aren't so great ESPECIALLY CMC. CMC is the laughing stock of the entire state, I don't even care what some kids sister said. And CU isn't stuck up, there are some wealthy people here but all that means is people with ski houses.

^ppl aren't stuck up...

ok so i went to cu, mesa, and cmc And from experience i'd say that cmc steamboat i had such a better time at. Also have fun sitting in traffic on 170...wow that blows, for me to get to the mtn its a 15 min walk, or a 10 min bus ride

nah man Boulder is chill, but CMC you get to ski way more...CMC is a joke, it is easier than high school, I got my associates in 1 year there, so fun, got 130 days that year too

boulder is the shit.. i70 can be a bitch on the way up to the mountains but don't sell yourself short on your college experience by going to some shitty cmc campus.

yeah thats what im looking for, i dont really give a shit about the education part, i just want something, but skiing is always gonna be like 10 times more important than college and stuff. so when i have the choice to go to a good college and ski some, or go to a bad college and ski all the time, im definatly gonna pick skiing all the time.

basiclly if you want to sell tickets at a ski are for 10$ an hr you go to CMC or if you wanna do something more productive (not saying its better) you go to CU or DU but CMC is little more than a community collage don't go their if you plan on working at a place like Schwab basically i agree with KEV but its my opinion and you al are entitled to urs

well i dont wanna work at any prestegious places when i'm older. im a boarder with hopes "going pro...." basically boarding is my main focus, but my parents wouldnt pay for me to go to a college like CMC (from what im hearing about it). my plan is to do graphic design for one of the ski/board companies during/once im done snowboarding competitively, so do any of the school have a good art program?

yo check it out...this is what you need to do......live out here for a year, just shred the gnar. THen cliam residency and CMC is only 41 dollars per credit...it is so easy, i dont think you can fail a there...then get you AA, and then go to a different school such as CU-Denver(great media arts program) or Art Institue of Colorado (in downtown denver) and go from there. At CUD you can claim in state after CMC too, but at the Art Institue of Colorado you cant...b ut CMC is the sickest school man, the professors alway cancel for pow days and shit...so sick

why don't you just not waste your/your parents money and not go to school??? go get a job for a mountain or something.

yeah CMC is a joke of a school, u might as well ski bum then waste your money for school there. CU is sick as hell, but yes it sucks getting to the mts on weekends cause I-70 traffic sucks ass, but overall id say its worth it.

yeah if i go to cmc its because i want to make my parents happy and to say i went to college, and its atleast a little better than community college. skiing is much more important than college to me, so whatever.

I am from Boulder and Boulder is one of the worst places to ski from. 93 blows, and the I-70 stint is long enough to pass out on. I went to Bozeman so that I wouldn;t have to spend all my $ on gas. 15 miles to Bridger or 45 to Big sky. Check out Ogden, UT or Idaho State too(Targhee & Jackson closer than Vail to Boulder) If you care about skiing and thats it don't go to Boulder. Boulder is for the image skiers, and for hot chicks but SLC has more than enough to hold you over.
