Boulder 4/20

I'm going to be in boulder this weekend visiting the school and will be taking a campus tour, of all days, on 4/20. Now the tour is from 930 to 11 am, when do the festivities really begin to heat up? My guess would be 420 pm. My only concern is i'll be touring with my mom and don't really want her to see what goes down that day. Any info or help?
 
I would not recommend touring any section of Boulder on 4/20 if you don't want your parents to see weed. In fact, I wouldn't recommend you go anywhere near any college campus on 4/20 if you don't want your parents to see weed.

I don't know why it's recognized as a special day though, most people smoke weed any time they want anyway so it's no different....
 
^ yeah this could end up being one of the funniest days of my life or a huge mistake... So should I try and skip the tour?
 
haha yeah it's not like my mom's oblivious to kids smoking at college, it's just the whole thousands of kids smoking in public thing i'm concerned about

Right between 400 and 420 is when shit is absolutely ridiculous, but there will be circles all over campus all day long. You will not be able to go through the tour without smelling and see weed several times, but you wont be going through a crowd of ten thousand taking a hit. There will probably be a pretty sizable crowd on norlin all day, just not thousands big until its closing in on 420.
 
Last year I went out to the quad at about 2:30 and there wasn't too many people there, but still in the hundreds enough room to play frisbee and shit like that. At about 3:30 is when the thousands starting showing up and it was hard to move around. It got pretty out of control then, and I don't really remember too much except for a massive amount of people... I think there were over 10000 people there, I couldn't see the end of the crowd. then 4:20 hit and there was smoke everywhere, people screaming and yelling... dudes were throwing hoola hoops and frisbees into the air and people were getting hit in the head. One girl got hit with a frisbee and passed out haha it was crazy but definitely not chill at all. It was cool to experience but this year I'm just gonna go to abasin and ski
 
Vail is opening up for skiing all day but it's EMPLOYEES ONLY!!! wooooo, so stoked...this is gonna be the best 420 ever, and ive been to the boulder one.
 
A friend of mine gives campus tours to prospective students as part of his job and he told me that they are required to take a different route away from the quad, but there is no way you won't smell weed at some point during the day, hopefully it doesn't scare your parents too much.
 
Yeah the tour went by Ferrand at about 12 and it wasn't even bad. There were kids out but they weren't being that blatant. Ends up i was bugging out over nothing really haha... i'm sure it got crazy later though, probably wouldn't want to have been at the 4 o clock tour
