Ive found most of the asshole sox fans are the ones that jumped on the bandwagon AFTER they won the world series in '04. Myself? I was born into it.
 
not even a little bit true. a much larger portion of yankees fans are baseball fans, we follow all season, know the team, the players, the teams and players around the league, our history, and we generally really understand and follow the game. In New England, mostly douchbag college kids and massholes in their 20s buy those hideous blue hats with a red B on it and try to talk shit cause they won the world series last year.

one of my best friends is from boston and he is a true baseball fan. he and i go out and watch a lot of sox games, yankees games, or just any other games that are on. he knows the lineups and rotation of yankees, sox, all the teams in the AL East and most all other mlb teams. He is a sox fan obviously and he hates Post '04 Boston fans are worse than Yankees fans. There are lots of bandwagoners for both teams, but the yanks fans are a lot quieter. Sox fans talk shit even though they dont know what theyre talking about or follow the game. I mean just look at this thread...

im by no means a "fan", but I am from New Bedford, along with the rest of my family. of course i route for new england, boston teams.

i hate living in new york...legit reason in my mind..

i would say the yankee bandwagon is the biggest in sports-based off what ive seen.
 
oh and also thanks to fred durst all kids in 5th grade started to like the yankees except for me, because i was a boston fan. fuck the yanks.
 
yes, the giants were the wildcard team and had to win their last game to make the playoffs.

maybe not a fluke, but most days the pats and packers would win against the giants last season. but they far outplayed the pats in the superbowl, no questions.
 
yea but remember when/how tom brady transcended from a human to a god (hint: 2001). i kept seeing that parallel before the game and cringing. i honestly don't remember any of that game, it along with game 7 with the faggot aaron boone are burned from my memory.

and to the skankee fan trying crying about the boston bandwagon...whose team's hat is fucking fashion statement. people (usually non-americans) have skankee hats and don't even know who they are. i can't wait til your retarded owner puts jaba in the starting rotation and his arm falls off. you guys are fucked, the new steinbrenner skipped the "winning" steinbrenner phase and went straight to crazy. hows last place?

um so the patriots are not a good franchise? I hear all the time how the Pats are the best Franchise in the NFL. How great of an owner Craft is. They are they dominate team of the decade. "suckass patriots" who had the best regular season ever. They might have choked in the end but they are far from sucking.
 
The majority of Boston fans are pretty classy...but that does not include all you bandwagon pieces of shit of come on here and thump your chest. Boston fans have a good reputation because they DON'T act like pompous self-absorbed assholes...so thanks for ruining if for all the real Boston fans. Your breed of dickheads is the reason nobody went to see the Patriots or the Sox during the 90's.

dont no where your from but at least we made it to the super bowl, more than u can say. and most likely the celtics are better than ur hometown team. and the Eagles were #2, more than 99.9% of college teams can say, so yeah i would say we have a reason to take pride in our sports teams. maybe if u could enlighten me as to where ur from and how ur hometown teams are amazing? but im guessing u cant because the boston teams ARE better than any team you like.

Yankees hats have always been around because everyone and their grandmother wear them even if they can't locate New York on a fucking map. MOST Yankees hats are fashion statements. The flat brim ones? Fans don't wear those, but you seem to see them everywhere.

Almost all the people who I know who grew up watching the Sox all have the hats we bought at the games. Frayed, tattered, and discolored but we still rep them hard.

And, Boston fans have taken pride in all their sports no matter what was happening to the teams. Bandwagon fans are the ones who take pride that we're winning.

Fuck I can't even believe that this turned into an argument about hats.

Syracuse lacrosse, or LI lacrosse for that matter, Giants, I love OSU for football.....they have lost 2 national championships in a row, but are consistently higher rated than the eagles. Sister teaches there for the past 10 years and brings me to the games, thats why i like them. and there are not 2000 football teams so they could not have posssibly done better than 99.9 percent of them. And if you didn't notice, they lost 7 straight after that.....ending ranked like 84 of 116......great ranking!!! i like the mets, rangers, giants, and OSU..... don't really care for basketball or soccer, but i would route for the knicks.

I don't car how good teams are now. Just cause boston is hot now does not mean shit, other than that they will get more front-running fans like you. Where were you when they were losing. I was with the giants from 85 till they won in 90 till now.......over the past 20 years, NY sports will blow boston out of the water!!!

this thread will be fun to look back on once the celtics lose.

i think if they liked anyone other than the mets or yankees, mainly the sox, it would be due to a fashion statement, or because everybody likes them..... but the yankees haven't been winning, everybody, not just boston fans, hates them...... and in recent years, a boston hat is much more of a fashion statement then a NY hat. The only people you see in the spotlight with NY hats on are either from NY, or lebron james.
 
Including the yankees players heads, red sox players heads and everyone else in the MLB. the flat brimmed hats are the official hats of MLB, and worn by many fans. i don't know if you know this, but all hats come with flat-brims, they all must be bent to be curved, not just 5950's
 
you mean the wildcard game needed to be won? that is considered a playoff game, but the giants last regular season game was against the pats, which they lost, yet still made the playoffs.... man these boston fans know their stuff!
