Boston ski scene?

Hey guys so I saw an old thread about mountains you can ski somewhat easily from Boston but I wanna ask again cause I'm prolly moving there next year for school. I'm used to skiing 3/4 days a week now and I'm trying to figure out whether there's like ski culture in Boston with people who are really into it and who make trips to decent mountains often etc.

Thanks!!

What kinda skiing are you looking to do? Theres some fun park mountains 40 minutes to an hour from Boston like Wachusett and Nashoba Valley. Otherwise the best overall skiing is northern NH or Vermont. You got plenty of good options, might be a long drive though.

The college I go to gives me a free pass to Sunapee which is an easy hour and a half drive from Boston

Sunapee is definetley a good option, seems like its the closest "big" mountain to Boston, havent been there this year but I actually like it there, never enjoy the parks though.

Park is what I'm really into mainly so good to hear that those two have some fun stuff!

Oh that's sweet what school is it? Is it easy enough to go for the day normally?

I'm at Colby Sawyer. I live near the Boston area and I used to take Sunapee day trips all the time

I've only skied wachusett once and heard it use to be better, it was pretty fun but nashoba is definetley a more active park hill. Its a tiny mountain though it's one park but it's pretty on point whenever I'm there. There's also crotched mountain, its an hour and a half from Boston, parks can be good the park crew just doesn't do much since they're not allowed to go all out. Skiing ain't bad and its never packed except when Mass has their vacations.

Sweet good stuff thanks!!

Yeah If you want to shred a decent park then go to Nashoba. By far the best park near Boston. I drive up to the Waterville/Canon/Loon area on the weekends.

just to be clear, nashoba is a tiny little hill. like, 30 seconds from the top of the lift to the bottom if you ski straight

but their park is sick and theyre mad close to boston. ive even headed over after work for some night rails and shit a couple times

wachusett is alright but crowded and expensive for what it is-- small

sunapee is my favorite close mtn that is actually decent sized and fun. and their park varies a lot but some years it's been super fun

after that the most approachable are waterville valley (small but fun, great park) and loon (good size, great park, very fun, but gets crowded)

if you're looking to ski plenty of park every week, definitely Hit up Nashoba when you can, then I'd probably head up North on the weekends

Sunapee has one of my favorite parks ever, and its only like 90mins from boston

Come fall time , the snowriders have the Boston winter film festival, tgr does a huge premier at house of blues followed by an after party put on by bern helmets , and several other premieres come through town also. And there's the Boston ski and snowboard expo as well.
