Boston Jib Park

Sorry I already posted this in Regionals but I thought it was worth posting in Ski Gabber too.

Alright me and Adrian have been thinking about this for a long time, and I think it is time that we try and actually get this done.

I know Portland, ME and Denver have done it, so why not Boston? Basically a skate park for skiers/boarders, that would have like 6 jibs. Maybe a flat rail, flat box, flat down box, rainbow rail... stuff like that. I bet that some mountains up north would be more than happy to send down some jibs for it if their mountain was promoted somehow. I bet a ton of companies would be down for this too, I wanna talk to Ski Market Underground and I know that this guy from Freeskier wanted to help out too.

But I know that if we really want to get this done, we'll need all your help. So I'm going to make a cult and anyone that wants in just post here and I'll send you an invite. You don't have to live in Boston to join, just if you think you can help at all.

yo sean, me and evan are gonna be living in downtown boston this summer, so if you need any help let us know for sure, thatd be dope as hell if it worked out.

that would be suchhh a sick idea. if i didn't live 3 hours away, i'd be there every single day. no doubt. if you can pull it off, props.

Yeah that would be so dope man... I just sent an e-mail to Matt at Okemo so maybe we can work something out with them about possibly them giving us some rails/boxes we can use.

Yeah that's the problem... there isn't snow all winter long, so maybe when there isn't any snow on the ground we could get it from a hockey rink or something.

im just outside of boston in the 978, so yea i would definitly be down for helping out and getting this project going.

The City of Denver worked with Winter Park to make the park and the City of Denver owns Winter Park, so they had an advantage on the connections. Winter Park set up snow guns at the start, but then Denver got hammered and they didn't need to make snow.

You should try and get a ski resort sponsor on your side first and then go to the city. The resort gets free promos and publicity and you get a park. I'd bet the biggest issue you'll run into is liability insurance in case someone gets hurt.

Yeah I was thinking that like in the summer every Saturday and Sunday we would just get snow from a hockey rink.

dude im down for sho...i might be moving from utah to boston for work so this could deff help me cope with my losses. deff add me into this and when you think this would oppen up?

Well everythings set up, the city is way cool with the idea, everything is paid for, and it's snowing right now in Boston so it should probably open up sometime next week....

we had one of those in madison, wi last season. brought in a few rails and some snow and stuff, and had a jib session right downtown. it was a good time.
