Boring white guy (Paul Ryan) picked as boring white guy (Mitt Romney)'s VP

people say this about literally every single election, regardless of who is in it.

I can't wait until the "I'll move to canada" crew comes back around.

Im still laughing at my friends cousin who said that they would move to canada if Obamacare passed

yeah they both would do a shity job, but i do feel like least Obama actually cares. unlike mit who i feel is mainly doing this for the money.

are you retarded? mitt romney makes so much more money a year not being president then he would make being president. iirc, mitt made like 21 mil in 2010. salary for the president is like $400k + expense funds

From abc news."As governor of Massachusetts and as head of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Mitt Romney did not take a salary"

Just sayin

you have any idea how much money you make associating your name with anything after being president. obviously hes not going to make as much as he would owning a peace of shit company like bain capital. you know how much money and how well his company's are going to do if when hes done with his term if he wins. my point wasn't really about the money it's more about the fact i don't think he gives a shit out most of america he cares more about himself. that being said tho i dont really like Obama either.

If Obama gets reelected this country will be forever scared. I can't stand the man. Why te fuck would anyone want to work their ass off so they can comfortable support thei family when Obama just wants to tax the shit out of it. Over a quarter of this country doesn't even pay an income tax so stop fucking talkig about paying your fair share. I hope Mitt wins. If he does this country might have a slight chance of repairing what has happened the past 4 years.

Your from Ohio, and I have seen a few of your posts a tip for you stop watching fox news and listening to rush and beck.

And just like that Obama has won.

Paul Ryan, and now Mitt will continue to get hammered on his budget proposal, and the fact that that budget cut so many social programs (not welfare, but things all sorts of Americans lose) will alienate any moderates who had a chance of voting for Romney. Sure Ryan might pull in a few far right tea party folks or neo-cons, but it wont make up for what he lost in moderates.

It sounds like you're jealous of poor people because they don't have to pay as much taxes as you? I think you're over estimating how much "taxing the shit out of it" really is.

Yes, clearly the rich are being taxed to death! Look at how much Romney himself had to pay in taxes! Oh wait....

I love the thread title... You know, I almost want them to win. That way in four years democrats can have a landslide election

2008: liberals laugh incessantly at the gop's choice to pick a woman as mccains vp. continue to ridicule her throughout the election

at the same time they go on about the change movement and endorse a half black guy named barrack husein obama(lol)

2012 liberals laugh at the choice to have a typical white male run as vp.

They didnt laugh at her because she was a woman, they laughed at her because she was incompetent.

This guy isn't incompetent, he just isn't going to help Mitt win.

this is one of those fucked if you do, fucked if you don't situations.

There were risks/benefits to all of the choices:

Portman

Pawlently

Jindal

Rubio

Ryan

and it will be debated long before/after the election and will likely be blamed/credited for the outcome

In actuality, it probably has little impact

I think it is funny that both sides tell me the other side is going to loose the moderates' votes. Hmm...

It really does not matter, since congress is currently a cesspool of 3rd grade bickering and incompetence.

Haha kid goes to Miami, way to keep up the "I am a rich conceited douchebag theme" they have going up there!

The tea party and the insane right leaning young guns really fucked over the GOP. Now people like Romney and Ryan have to answer to the fucking idiots on the right and if they don't they will be ousted. I think someone like Romney at heart is not really like the rest of his party at all and is much more moderate but because of the insane pressure from the wing nuts, and the fact that he has no personal conviction at all he has to fold.

Remember back in the 90's and early 2000's before we had Barack the Republicans believed in evolution and global warming. IN fact cap and trade was a republican idea originally in the early 2000's but now all of a sudden its some kind of socialist antibusiness policy.

Also The Affordable Care Act is an extremely conservative healthcare law, and we all already know it was based off of Mitt Romneys healthcare law.

Over the last couple years its seems as though the left has moved to the center and the right has moved into a mental hospital.

And I'm guessing you watch CNN and MSNBC.... I cant fucking stand liberals who call Fox biased while watching CNN/MSNBC

There really is a difference between cnn/msnbc and fox. For starters cnn and msnbc actually care and are concerned with being factually accurate.

Someone please explain to me (if you think this way) how Romney is a crook. It is not a crime to be a successful business man and becoming wealthy because of it. Bain capital is not some massive business that is out to keep the poor down and steal people's money. Investment capitol is almost the opposite. I know some people that are involved with it and investment capitol is funding ideas/inventions/new companies/ people that don't have the resources to get there business off the ground and getting it started and in return a company like Bain gets a stake in the company. It is all about taking calculated risks because most of the new companies fail and some succeed. You cant deny that Romney is a good business man and has lots of experience in the private sector, which I think is way better than political experience.

Actually I hate pretty much hate all the news organizations; extremely biased on both parts and really just perpetuate fear and hyperpolarize the public. The worst part by far is the fact that no distinction is clearly made between the "news" programs and the "opinion" programs and so people take the opinion shows as factual programs. Fox news is really effective at generating ratings and establishing a loyal viewer base and the other organizations are recognizing this and modeling themselves after it, but high ratings should not be the desired result of news. It should be informing the public. Otherwise this is what you get

Wants to raise tax on middle class. Cut taxes on the rich even more-so than the Bush tax cuts.

Thinks Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme.

Cosponsored the "Personhood" amendment - which is some pretty gnarly anti-abortion legislation.

Supports over 40 billion dollars in Big Oil subsidies - all while he has ownership stakes in companies that would highly benefit financially from these subsidies.

Wants to end Medicare and replace it with some crazy 'voucher system' which wouldn't even be set to increase while medical costs increase - leaving pretty much everyone who qualifies for them without healthcare benefits.

Actually accused generals and other military personel that they were lying when they stated they supported Obama's military budgetting policies.

The Catholic Church itself has criticized him (He's Catholic) for his proposals on cutting programs that would help the poor/disenfranchised, and basically pointed a finger at him saying that he was totally misreading his catholic teachings (having been raised Catholic myself, I can agree with this, based on his actions and what he supports)

Embraces Ayn Rand's teachings heavily (Objectivism - Which is based around such things as Rational-Egoism - AKA not giving a fuck about anyone but yourself and your own best interests, and finding some weird moral reasoning to do so, and lassaiz-faire capitalism which tanked the world in 1929)

Has criticized Romney and Romneycare many times (which is why this whole thing's especially kinda funny..) and bitches hard about it, and it's similarities to the Affordable Healthcare Act all the time.

Wants to eliminate Pell Grants for 1 million students - Pell Grants which made college something that I, and many many other students could actually afford - seeing as my parents absolutely couldn't financially help me for shit with it due to the budget crisis, and being dead-set middle class.

In some of his earlier budget proposals, the conclusion would end up killing off over 4 million jobs within 2 years.

Basically, I see this as Romney trying to get the highly conservative base back into his camp (Same way McCain did it 4 years ago with Palin) because this guy is far more conservative than Romney is.

It even devolved into a fight over which news network is more fair. HAHAHA

Typical NS politics thread....
