Boreal update

Good morning all,

Temps were inverted again last night so no snowmaking took place. As a result of this weekends skier/rider traffic and combined warm temps overnight NO GROOMING TOOK PLACE. The snow is getting thin and grooming would have risked turning up dirt.

Here's a link to the Sierra Snow Lab which is located between Boreal and Soda Springs. You can get an idea of how inverted the nighttime temps have been with this high pressure weather we are in.

thanks for the update.  you guys have been doing a great job with the little bit of snow you have, i hope you get some more this week.

If only you guys were at higher altitude, I swear you guys would kick so much ass if that was the case...

You guys kick ass anyway though... so its all good.

yeah, still loving tha mud, but the park crew did good today I must say. Eric, put Mikey to work on the park crew and everything will be kick ass!!!

haha yeah i noticed... i guess all the action in the terrain park was just too bland compared to the radness of me and mack gaping it up on the chairlift

^maing, them poles is so sick, like you don't even know, they definately helped me go 6.3% faster and 4.7% higher off every lip.

Im pretty sure its going to dumptown around the end of december........like jea way quick good snow.

jex, the snow god, will bring the snow to us.

but seriously, i checked the webcam first thing when i got up this morning,a nd i was super stoked to see snow everywhere. made my day waaaay better.

It snowed some last night (about 2") and we were able to blow snow from about 3am until 9:30 or so. The park is looking fresh once again.

Hopefully we will get some goods temps tonight to keep blowing snow.

Claimjumper is opening tomorrow. Nights starting tomorrow.

All of my snow dancing is starting to pay off.

yes there is, or was, when you took out the flat rail, the lip was still there so you could get like 2 FEET OF AIR!!!!! it was insane.

oh that.....saw a kid do a backie of of it today!!!

we pulled everything tonight so the snowmakers can do there thing in full force and not worry about burying anything.

look for a totally new line of features that start off of the Claimjumper chair for tomorrow.

Claimjumper is turning into the "park chair" for now until we get going to the top. hopefully by mon/tue we will have the run below the superpipe open and have moved all the sizable features over there leaving the run we've been using now as the "kidz x" park..small jumps and ride-ons. We will do whatever it takes to get one or both staircases set up next week on the new trail.

goodnight interwebers..5am is gonna come fast......

Were oozzing man made snow at alpine , if any of you park rat noobs give a crap. Might MIGHT be open monday.. wait tell tuesday its sposed to poop sunday and monday night.

For Sunday, will there be any new features on the 'park' lift? I was content with the S box and the other stuff on wed/thurs, but it looked like they were moving jibs up the hill.

hey , you gonna be at Breal tom? if so il drop by and ski a few runs with you before i head home fo turkeys... let me know,

Nick

i get off prob about 11 if its warm so id head straight there. i can drive if you can get a ride home..

big descion for tonight...pull the house box and place one of the staircases or build a small jump. Aside from that all of the features are the same just in differnet spots. The big change will be mon/tues or there abouts when we move all of the sizable park features to the run below superpipe and turn teh exsisting run into the ride-on kiddie park. Snowmaking temps look good through the forecast so things should move along fast next week.

Eric

check it, one jump... 9,000,000,000 kids wanting to hit it... each kid is max 2.5 ft. wide correct? meaning 36.000.000.00 ( plus or minus a few 0's ) feet of kids needs to fit into a space thats 9 feet wide....then if one .75 foot kid with ski tips tied together falls on the landing and takes more than 6.444 seconds to get up one of the 36,000,000,00 snowloerboarders from the STAR will throw a punhc into the blur of people causing a domino effect that will throw off the rotation of the earth causing the poles to flip wich means.. compasses will be fucked.. having said that.. i think the BOX would be a better idear.

why you dissin on N* kids, they are soooo ghetto and kooooool, with all that rich white kid money and no skiilllls. But yeah ur right, you should def put in a staircase

I would much prefer a jump, theres are already a good number of jib's with more to come. just my vote.
