Boreal update: wed

Hi everyone,

I've been off for a few days so sorry for the lack of updates since the weekend.

Not to much new to report as the temp inversion has returned in full force, the only snow we've been able to make is in the base area the lasst two nights. We were able however to make new snow for the wallride. This morning we raised it about 4ft so it has alot better tranny now. It's still not close to mid-winter form but it is alot better. We will probably raise it once more later this week but in this location speed would be an issue if we raise it to mid-winter form. Hopefully next week we can make more snow further up the mountain and move the wallride to a better location where it can be setup with FULL tranny.

Pray for better temps so we can move the lower night park to its permanent location and get the upper night jump line going!

yeah..know what you mean. with that first setup, the term "tranny" was used figuratively speaking. It's alot better now, still not the way it should be..but better.

We thought alot about whether or not to set up the wall. Given the current situtation it seemed like a good idea to give it a shot...it will only continue to get better.

I'm going to poke around with the cat tonight and see if I can scrap together some hidden snow to add more to the park line on Accelerator. I know everyone really wants jumps but I just dont see that happening without more snow. Might be able to put out the other staircase or some other jibtastic obstocles.

I'll report later tonight if successful.

the second staircase went tonight in place of the up-box next the 40ft down rail.

I was so close to pulling the other line tonight and switching the parks to their permanent trails...just need a little more snow on the other run...it's soooooo close.

hopefully my negative outlook on this upcoming storm will be proven wrong and we'll get all the snow we need.

It's a bummer...leaving Boreal at 1am and the temp was 31deg, pulling into my driveway in TD and its 20deg.

goodnight

Eric

i can hardly wait till tomorrow. ive already told you i love the way the park is set up on the main run cause it flows so nicely but if you say it will be even better at its new location then i trust you

for now they are on different trails. at some point in the future they will be a double line.

to the other guy...it is a jump although very small.

maybe you saw it after they made snow on it while I was off...those days the park didn't get an early morning touch up after snowmaking from the night before.

I'll admit though that one of the flat rails would be sweet on its deck with full tranny take-off, 8-9ft gap to the rail and that landing hill...but people want jumps and unfortunately a 15ft table is the best we can do right now untill it gets colder or snows. You guys will be stoked on the upper night jumpline whenever it gets built...I envision it to be like the last three at Alpine on the Roo when it's in it's prime. We built it last June after the mtn closed as a prototype and it was pretty darn sick. The deck of the last jump is next to the chairlift just like the deck of the superpipe..the chair goes right between the two..going to be so sick with people airing chairlift level on both sides!

The pitch is perfect and it's off the main run away from the gapadactle traffic plus it will tie in with the lower park below the stuntditch. We've got a few fan guns up there deticated to building those jumps. The plan is for a 30 to 50ft triple line, all step down. The only other two "big" jumps will be on 49ner as a 50-60ft double line, the first being step-down and the second more Table style. The spot we have picked out flattens where the second jump will be making it possible to build a table style jump without using a superpipe amount of snow to do it.
