Boreal Update 12/10

sorry for the lack of updates but its been a very busy week with round the clock snowmaking.

we've been hoarding snow above the lower night park all this week. Look for the fullsize triple line to appear overnight one day this week. we have the snowbomb slopestyle this weekend so expect the lower park to be in mid season form!

anyone thats been up in the last few days knows what my other big project is. I won't say anything untill I'm past the point of no return...which will be any day now.

haha no doubt....one ride up accelerator and the secret is out. You were pushing heaps tonight!!!!!

Should be an interesting saturday.....glad to see minimal hype which will cut down crowds.

we got a double line of 30fters up tonight. the park will open a little late in the morning because we still have some rails to reset.

that other thing I've been working on...you know the big snow thing that you do tricks in and out of.....

well, barring any unforseen mechincal difficulties...it will open Friday night...first in california!

You're out of control man. Tonight should be insane. Thanks so much for all your work. When's the last time you saw your house?

8 hours of sleep combined the last 3 days. not sure how I made it home today....there were goblins running along side me on the highway at 5am. eyes were playing crazy tricks this morning.

Newbie here, I just moved down from Truckee to Reno and I am wondering if there are any carpools in the evenings up to Boriental.

Well thanks for a great pipe. I got my first drop-in tonight. It was great. It's sooo nice to see things up and running like this before christmas.

yo mudflap those jumps are sick but i think the table could be a little longer on the first one. I kept taking it wayyyy too deep.

Yeah I agree. My feet hurt from the first table. However, if you want to get a pipe run in you might not get enough speed for a bigger table.

we are still making snow for the first jump in that lower triple line. when we get that up it will all make sense. because the lower park starts to flatten out we have to set the flow from up above. we made the last two jumps a alttle on the small side so speed wouldn't be a pressing issue. also, I want to make that triple line a tad bit smaller this year for just that reason. make it more fun and less dependent on carring in a bunch of speed. I know all of the better riders would like to see the jumps bigger but trimming them by 5 to 8 ft really stokes out a vast majority of riders who felt a little left out in last years lower night park. Don't worry though, we've got your back in th eupper double line, they'll be bigger with taller landings.

once this storm series passes we are turning our full attention to blowing snow for the upper night park.

it been alot of hard work and long nights for everyone involved but we will continue on this pase untill the full park top to bottom is complete. After that, it is all up to mother nature to give us the snow for the 49ner and Dutchman parks.

thanks to everyone for coming out and having fun as we get things up and rolling.

Also big thanks to everyone on the crew for busting ass and lossing sleep to get up what we got!

Shaydar (if anyone sees a bald 28 year old in a Boreal uni riding the pipe, please stop and say thanks. He's our new Mtn Manager and he has worked as many all nighters as anyone on park/grooming staff to make snow for the superpipe and park. whens the last time a mountain manager anywhere else pulled multiple all nighters to help build a superpipe? doubt you'll find one other that Shaydar!)
