Boreal SuperTUbe open

we're working on that..however these are the simple facts of maintaining a quality superpipe:

1)after cutting, the pipe needs to set for atleast 8 hours so it holds up the next day.

2)the best time to cut is mid afternoon or early evening when there is still some moisture left in the snow so you can get good bonding

with these two simple facts it just doesn't make it possible to have it open for the whole night session. As we (Jimmy, my other pipe cutter guy and myself) get a better handle on what is possible with the new zaugg and as conditions change heading into spring it may be possible to expand the hours the superpipe will be open.

Here's another little fact. The only night Superpipe I know of is Blackcolmb and it is only open at night.closed all day for the same reasons I stated above.

last night we closed the pipe at 6pm to cut and it wasn't looking very smooth at that piont. I would question anyone who honestly would want to ride a pipe in the condition it was in at that time. Pipes can only take so much rider use before they start to lose shape and if you let it go too long it ends up doing serious damage. damage that effects its day to day quality and over longevity.

No.....

Keystones superpipe is open at night, as is two or three in the midwest. They cut them overnight and yes the pipe suffers, but I would suggest having one or two days during the week where you do a morning cut and let it ride.

Lots of peeps only get to ride weekends and nights, and we all know what weekends are like.

Okay..I didn't know that...probably because none of those pipes are not held in very high regard. I'm trying very hard to reverse years of down right horrible pipes at Boreal. Pipes are my speciality. check my personally site www.project-snow.com to see what I've done in regards to pipes in the past and what I'm trying to bring to Boreal. Thats my first priority..figuring out how to do it and get nights in as well is second.

yeah I remeber we had that discussion at boreal....I'm just bummed I will get no pipe what so ever this season unless I go to another resort. I only have the boreal night pass and the Alpine full pass....and last you told me was no pipe at alpine. Surprise us and put a sick stunt ditch up at the shreadows...haha

I have an easy solution to all this.....

Does boreal allow you to "upgrade" your pass?

the night pass is 99, the midweek that gets you nights plus everyday except saturday is 199. I bought the midweek and rock out boreal on bluebird days sometimes.......you all should upgrade and rip that pipe all day.

there's no way I am shelling out another 100 after this years pass price increases at Alpine. I like to ride a night on the weekends cause I have no school or work. I could do a midweek, but then I could never go on saturday or sunday night. such a predicament.

it was the front page journal of our local newspaper. that is how small auburn is, nothing better to write about. not that it's not important, but i don't think more than 2 percent of auburn would get it.

its only a buck man....i guarantee i paid more for my pass at alpine than all of you. (899).

a hundred bucks to ride the best pipe in tahoe (it is) is easy to swallow, plus boreals park is dope as hell during the weekdays.

If money is hard to find, give me plasma two or three times and you got it ha.
