I love how in Canada there is like.. one online shop that carries freestyle skis. (There may be more all that comes to mind is d-struct), And everything else is in the US..

Anyways i got skis shipped from NH (proctor jones) And it cost $117.33 to have them crossed at the border. RAPE!

And the worst part is that no one was even home to accept them today (dad will be home tomorrow) If i walked home to new skis the money wouldn't even be on my mind, but now i'm waiting till tomorrow!

Anyone else get raped with stuff at the border?

One of my dope skier friends is an exchange student from slovakia, how much would it cost for him to ship skis he got here there?

Yeah, I got 50$ of duties on a pair of bindings, and 30$ on a bunch of clothes from Getboards.

i dont think shops do that. Plus, a gift mark doesnt mean anything if the insurance cost is over 100$.

basically, its a rist... packages do get lost/stolen and if u dont have insurance on the packaged, u'll get rather owned

Heres what you need to do. Either A) get whatever shipped to a friend or someone you know in the states and have them just bring it up the next time they are planning a visit, or B) get whatever sent to them and have them send it you as a parcel. You avoid taxes, duty, etc...just make sure to pay your buddy back. Peace

yeah i had the same thing happen when i got some skis shipped to me from NY to canada, $50 for skis to cross border, $50 for bindings to cross border... so much for me getting a good deal. I could have bought brand new skis at a shop for the price i ended up paying and had them a lot sooner.

i talked to the owner on the phone to ship usps (transfers right to canada post) and he tried but they wouldn't take the package because of the iregular shape (thing of how long and skinny a box of 191 ants are) it makes sense. Then i asked if he when shipping through UPS would mark as a gift but he said legally i have to pay tax on it because its the law and he would get in huge shit if somehow they found out so he could'nt do that either. I think i researched my options well but non worked out. Anyways ill be happy walking in the door from school to a warm loving hug from my ants.
