BOOTS

Hey NS,

I have an issue... I currently have the 2011 salomon SPK kaos which fits super nice! However, the inner is packed out and is pretty much dead. I am going to either buy an intuition liner or I can get brand new salomon SPK pros from 2012 for the same price as a new liner. Thoughts?

If you recommend new intuition liners, which one will fit this boot best and if possible, please attach links.

Get the pro's no question if you can get them for the same price as just a liner then there should be no question. Better to get a whole new boot then just a liner.

Well I have the SPK kaos which is pretty much the same boot and the shell is fine. Still say get the SPK pro though?

I have a pair of Full Tilts and the intuition liner was a key factor when i was looking for boots. I had a pair of 2012 SPK 90s which were awesome and the lace-up liner worked well, but I find the intuition liners more comfortable on my feet. So i would say if your boots are in fairly good condition and you want a warmer, better fitting liner i would definitely go with the intuition liner. Otherwise if you have no problem with the SCS lace-up liner than get the brand new SPK pros

although it seems wasteful when you could just buy new liners, getting a new boot will mean new toe and heel binding lugs on the boot and new soles aswell as a new liner. depending on how much wear the boots have gotten since you bought them both the binding lugs and soles could be worn and will marginally effect the binding release and by buying new boots these effects are ruled out. by getting the pro it gives you a pair of boots to take parts off, if say, you break a buckle.

Plus after some reading the 2012 pro has some added features which the 11 kaos doesnt and i think its a 110 flex as opposed to the 100 of the kaos which if you've been in the kaos since 2011 will be a good progression for your skiing abilities.

Yeah defiantly get the whole boot. A the guy said above if nothing else it gives you a set of spare shells. But chances are you will end up wearing the shell out on the Laos before the liner goes again. I used to use foam injection liners with my spk's and usually went through 2 shells for one liner. Also the added stiffness of the pro is good it lets you push harder. So yeah defiantly get the boots rather then just the liners.
