hey all,

i need new boots this winter. I have the 170 ar5's, (mounted center +2), 6' tall and ski 50/50 park/all-mountain.

Last year i got a boot which had the 'hard-value' of 8. (I think 10 is the highest for retail boots) I think it was something like the haed edge 8.0 or so, i dont remember exactly.

what do you ride, and what is good?

Rossi Soft...........or some old nordicas....like 3 or 4 years ago model they're all over the place......black T 1.1 or somthing like that....i've had them for 5 years and they are the best boots ive ever had.....ever......invinciible and comfortable

 
^I also have rossignols softs. They are so good!! (a little much weight tho).

Edge 8.0 would be fine if you want a soft boot.. if you want something stiffer i sugest to get something else. its the one that fits your feet perfect that are good for start, if youre head works fine i sugest that you stick with head or go for nordica cuz youll problably have a wide foot.. it differs beetween the models thought but the edge boot is problably the widest. you can also go with some salomon boots that have a little wider shell like this years 1080 or the perf 8.0.

any dalbellos. cheap, and as good or better thanthing salomon, head, or (maybe) lange. i just got to ski my ZX supers the other night, wow. so nice. look into them, the're boots are really nice. the pictures on the website do not do them justice.

Go to a boot fitter and get fit for some boots. Boots ain't like skis brah, they're all the same except for fit. Find a company that fits your foot, and choose the model according to the flex needed. There's no reason to have preference for a certain boot when you go to buy some, because fit is all that matters, find a good boot fitter and your set.

all depends on your ankel flex, sit in a chair with you legs out and knees bent at a 90 degree angle (no shoes on) then have someone take a ruler in cm and lift your toes up but keep your heel on the ground measure from the floor to the ball of your foot by your pinky toe. if the measurment is over 4 cm you will generally want a stiff boot, below 4cm you will want a softer boot.
