Boots too worn down?

So late last season i landed pretty hard and one of my bindings broke. Luckily they were still under warranty so i brought them to the shop and they sent them back and got new ones finally shipped in. Today I go to the shop with my boots so they can put the new bindings on, but the guy says that my boots are too worn down and he is unable to fit the bindings on. I can still clip into my other skis no problem so I don't see why the hell he wouldn't be able to put the bindings on.

Luckily the Langes i own have replaceable toe and heel plates, so im gonna order some new ones so that i dont have to buy new boots. Has anyone had this problem though? Maybe someone who knows how to mount skis can tell me why its not possible to mount skis with worn boots?

That's bullcrap dude!:P If you're talking about mounting your bindings, they can do that without boots at all, they just need the length of the boot. and the same for moving the back binding, no problem at all. You have a crappy ski shop, thats all.

yea its bull but the shop can't legally mount bindings to your skis without your boots being up to standard

yea, i asked the guy if he could just use some other boots that were the same size but he said he wasnt allowed to do that.

well legally to mount them they need to have a functional boot because they are not supposed to mount them for people without testing the dins with the person's boot. That and they probably wanted to sell some more boots.

Your boots will be loose in your bindings when your boots start to get worn. I've had the problem before. Its from hiking in your boots a lot.

this happened to me last year and what i did was borrowed my bros boots which happened to be the same size and brought them to a different shop, then i just used my boots for the rest of the season. just find someone with similar sized boots and this should work, its a risk to use the boots but if you cant afford new ones like i couldn't then its an option. Hope everything works out for you

Its true the shop at work at does the same thing if your boots are worn down in the toe and heel and they cnt be replaced we cant legally mount them. And it is not bullshit there are certain standards in the ski industry to protect us not to just be gay. On the other hand we have a release form that the customer can sign that still allows us to work on the binding with the worn down boot.

I'm not sure what boots you have, but can you replace the toe/heel pieces on them? THats an easy solution

If not, then once they have worn down to the shell of the boot, then they can't be mounted because the boot/binding interface is questionable

If the tech mounted them to your boot, then if you prereleased out of the binding and injured yourself, then it could very well be because of your boot, not the binding.
