ok so last year i got burnt hard by excess baggage fees, as a photographer i've got some much stuff to take with light stands and what now..........

so my question is can you wear your ski boots onto the plane?

hmmm probably, but they are gonna be like wtf, i know my sister took about 50 pounds worth of stuff with her through carry ons etc, and she had a canada goose jacket and put clothes in the hood and all this shit cause she was trying ot bring stuff back with her however, are you planning on wearing them? if you are not gonna wear them then im sure its fine....

as per the Canadian Aviation Regulations:

705.40 (1) An air operator shall establish procedures to ensure that

(a) passengers move to and from the aircraft and embark and disembark safely, in accordance with procedures that meet the Commercial Air Service Standards and that are specified in the air operator's company operations manual;

that pretty much means they can tell you that the decreased mobility of ski boots is a safety issue; meaning no.

Buy a second hand wheel chair

Pretend to be disabled

Get preferential boarding

P.S You lost the use of your legs by saving a burning bus full of children.....and kittens, incase the stewardess ask's. Oh and wear a rug that will cover your ski boots, or you may get caught out!

WHEN IM SKIING I FLY WESTJET, THEY LET YOU HAVE 1 BAG, 1 SPORTS BAG AND YOU CAN TAKE YOUR BOOT BAG TOO BEACAUSE THEY GO TOGETHER OR SOMETHING. THE LADY SAID ALSO WITH HOCKEY BAGS YOU CAN BRING YOUR STICK BAGS AND STUFF FOR FREE.

I have always carried my boots onto the plane. Like most folks I will just velco the boots together, throw em over my shoulder and then put them in overhead storage for the flight. I wouldn't wear them on because your feet swell when you fly (i dont know why) and that would make the boots hell on your feet.

perhaps from sitting long term, lack of blood flow to carry blood away from your lower extremities from the forces of gravity?

i take my boots on the plane carry on everryy single time i fly. ( with ski gear obvs)

number one reason being if they lose my bags ill still have my boots. finding a pair of skis at the other end is easier than boots.

(thinks makes alot more sense i guess if youre competing like i was but still id rather do it this way.)

and two you save space and weight....

no has ever asked any questions just got the odd look every once in a while, or someone asking if i was coming or going snowboarding.

i've seen people just velcro them over their shoulder and carry them on. i've seen people bring helmets/goggles on too. i'm going to try this year, only the il moros don't have velcro they have these chains on the back. does the same thing, looks super fly.

I always carry my boots on the plane. Its more for me bc i dont care if my skis dont make it but if i go ona trip I would be sooo pissed if my boots didnt show up. U can buy/rent anything except for your own perfectly molded perfectly worn in pair of boots.

you can get away with a lot of stuff on airplanes...like a lot of stuff. the only thing is that you cant look like a terrorist or act suspicious. The flight attendants seem to appreciate a little rediulousness every now and then.

Strap em and carry em. Even if you have 2 carry ons, 9 times outta 10 they dont care. And get in line right when your group is called so theres still over head room.

i always bring my boots on never had a problem definatly do it saves so much space in bags as well just throw em up above you and your good to go

yeah man you're overthinking this. you can just sling them over your backpack and carry them on. thats what i do. they x-ray them so take all the throwing knives out of them first but then you are solid.

why the fuck would you wear your boots on the plane

just strap them together and carry them over your shoulder...

Now that ive posted seriously in this thread. Im surprised the airlines havent cracked down on carrying on boots onto planes after tamner packed his boots with dynamite

I actually had a wee giggle from the image of a skier boarding a plane wearing his ski boots ahah!

Whenever i've flown to utah, there are always a handful of guys on the plan with their boots as carry on. Pretty normal.
