boots, how much do they matter?

Ever since i started skiing, ive just bought the cheapiest boots. never gave ti a second thought until this year. my boots are on their second season so time for new ones next year as they are getting worn out under the toe and on the heel. anyways, what i want to know is how much the boot matters. i mean, so far the lowest end boots have been fine for me, but i have not used higher end boots. what matters in a boot? and do you think the cheapier boots are significantly worse than the more expensive boots such as the 1080's or the nordica beasts? thanks for the help guys (and girls)..

Boots are key. I jibbed with racing boots for a while, and it was terrible. Gotta have the flex factor. And they gotta be a nice fit, otherwise you can never really have full control.

Dont feel bad my boots are 4 seasons old and a shitty demo boot. Next season I'm gonna get some topend boot and have it fitted and everything, a lot of people tell me its all in the boot

We pay our debt sometimes.
 
my boots are 3 seasons old but they fit my foot well and have a nice flex boots can make or break the settup

Boot are the most important thing. Skis are a distant second. It decides how much pressure you can put up front, how stable you are at speed, how fast you can change up edges, and how well you deal with unexpected shit.

 
what variable does that affect?^ i can do all of that stuff. i can ski pretty wellas i am an instructor and they teach us how to ski a lot better.

if you ask any racer they will say boots are most important. for freeskiing skis are more important but boots are right up there. in raceing all skis are really stiff so it doesnt make as much of a diff but in freestyle flex patterns really determine how a ski performs in pow, park, pipe, groomers, crud,rails etc in raceing hard pack and ice are the only condition they have to deal with. get something thats comfy and is generally soft unless your doing serious BC

Matt, boots are super important. 1 if they are not comfortable then your life is miserable. 2 They are your link to your ski, they are telling them what to do. Do yourself a favor and get decent boots. I just started rocking the new Dalbello's that Tanner is on. They are the shit. The best skiing boot that I have had. That's saying something. I have skied Salomon, Rossi and Lange. Get good boots and then make them fit your foot. They should last a few years and it is worth the investment. e

 
thanks, what is the name of the boot? the thing is... my boots are comfortable and im just not fully convinced that i need new boots although it is starting to seem more and more necessary

i've had my 1080's for like 3 seasons, i don't want to switch them, but i need new boots... and i think a comfy boot is key.

 
my boots were the most expensive thing on my entire set up

they're important because your feet need to be comfy for you to ride to your full potential. or somthign like that, buy ones that fit right and feel good. demo every boot in the damn store if nessicary..... boots are key
