Boot sizing, help a brother out

So I've always wore a 29.0 but I went to try on some new boots at a local shop and they said I would be good with a 28.5. How can you tell exactly what size you wear? Wear should your toes be, etc.?

was too lazy to read nomen so sorry if he said it, but they can tell what size shell you need why having you step into the shell without the liner and seeing how much space is left, should be about 1/4 inch or so, basically a finger tip, between your heel and the shell with your toes touchin the front.... or is it two finger tips??? anyone know for sure? it's been a while since I sized myself for boots.

two finger tips the the ideal boot fit but you can get away with like one and a half or a little more depending on what fit you want

its supposed to be like 2-3 cm in the back of the boot. some shops are now gettin away from the finger test because as you would expect it isn't very consistent. now dowel rods are being used. but anyway. try on the boot and if the 28.5 feels fine after you havin in on for a while. buy it and take it home to wear it even longer. if you have it pinching anywhere then just return it or take it back to have your shop mess with it. you can always make a boot bigger. thats why size a boot with your smaller foot.

if you get the 29 and it packs out your toe will be sore from bouncing of the front of the liner trust me it happened to me last year

lets just say that 85 percent of people out there are in a boot that is to big for them i sell boots at christys in winter park and i say if your shop tec is trustworthy listen too him the boot should feel just a little to small when trying it on brand new

I was fitted with a 28.5 which was perfect until the liner broke in....now I wish I had bought a smaller size.

Go with the smaller of the two, as long as your toes arent jammed in. it's not like shoes. with your boots your toes should be just touching the end. If you think they're touching a little too much, dont worry, the liner will stretch for the perfect snug fit.
