Boot Size

Go to a boot fitter at a local shop. They'll hook you up with the boots that will fit the best. Never buy ski boots without trying them on first. You might be surprised at what feels the best on your feet

Listen to your coach and the fitters, Have a strong inclination that they can help you better that we can. The average 10.5 foot will most likely be in a 27.5 shell but again that is a big stretch. In Ski boots there is never a generally. Its your foot not ours or anybody else. Listen to people that have seen your foot.

dude what are you not getting about this? no one knows. you arent here in front of us so we cant tell you. go to a bootfitter, they will tell you what boot to get, buy that boot, the end. like im not trying to be a dick but just stop asking stupid questions. perhaps every other reply in this thread was not clear enough but hopefully now you finally get it

I am a 10.5 as well and I have 3 pairs of boots a 27.5 cm a 28 cm and a 28.5. The one that is 27.5 is too small and the 28.5 is to big. Like the story says that 28 fits my foot perfect. So I would say 28 but I recommend you go to your local shop and get it checked out.

Dude no....sizes have nothing to do with...it's about shell length....and I'm size 13 I've been in 28 and 29. some brands are longer than others. 29s are perfect for me so if your 10.5 honestly your boots should probably be a 26 or 27....but no one seen your feet, so no one can really say

The second half of your last sentence is the only thing that makes any sense... Unless you are trying on a Scarpa, the whole & half size of boot are the same thing. in 99% of the alpine boot world, size 28 and 28.5 share the same shell and the exact same liner. Some companies, like Atomic, put a 2mm shim under the insole of 28.0 to take up a bit of volume or they put in a thicker insole. But other than that, the 28.0 and 28.5 are the exact same thing and it doesn't matter which one you buy.

OP- just so you know, my foot is a 10.5/44.5 and I wear a 26.5 ski boot. There is no correlation between street shoe size and ski boot size because length is only one part of finding the right boot. Volume, width, general shell contours, and liner profile affect the fit. This is why everyone is saying go to a boot-fitter, because this person who can see your foot and examine it IN THE SHELL. Without this, you will be flying blind on the most important part of your gear selection. It sucks that a boot-fitter isn't close to you, but try to make the journey to one. A 2 or 3 hour drive to a good boot-fitter is very common. Worst case scenario, I would trust your coach.

While we may not be able to narrow down the size to a t, you can most likely get a half size as whole sizes are nothing more than thicker insole or shims to take up the room. typically going a full size down is what works for most but it depends on the boot. im a 9.5 and wear a 26.5 but its a narrow rossi with a 96 last and a custom footbed. my toes jam the end when walking, but are perfect with enough toe box room when in a ski position.

id suggest spending some time at a local shop to get fitted properly and maybe think about giving them the money and buying the boots there. they'd appreciate it. then, if you have any issues and need tweaks, they will be happy to accommodate.
