Boot Questions (I went to a Fitter)

Hey guys, So I recently went to a boot fitter to get sized for boots since it is a necessity in most cases and I've learned something new about myself. My feet are different in width and length by a few mm.

The difference in sole width is 103-104 and 106 for left and right respectively

The difference in Length is the same (3-4 mm difference)

Knowing this information, if I am between sizes lets say between a 26.5 and 27 should I go to the larger size (27) for a little more room, or do I go to the size smaller (26.5) for a more "snug" fit. I know the boot is extremely important (if not the most important) but I was recommended the bigger size since since I could just buckle the boot tighter when needed. Any thoughts on which size, also boot recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Not a boot fitter but in my personal experience it is easier to make a boot bigger and fine tune it that way rather than make it smaller/tighter, especially since liners can pack out.

With that being said, you would say smaller size and either get the shell heater or just break in the liners?

Smaller size without a doubt! Boots can be ground out, stretched and punch to accommodate the differences in your alien feet. jk about the feet part, most peoples feet are not identical!

Another vote for smaller. It's weird the fitter said "you can just buckle it tighter".

Yeah I wouldn't agree with the buckle it down tighter. I would always go down a size because it is easy to make a boot bigger but a boot that's bigger is hard to make small and won't preform as well, also a lot of good skiers downsize a size already for performance, my foot measures out 27.5 and I ski in a 26.5 salomon x max 120s and did a 3d custom shell and I still feel I have enough space to be comfortable. Moral of my story is always go smaller. Also get a foot bed, when you have a foot bed it keeps you from collapsing your arch and making your foot longer which will help with being Ina smaller boot.
