i have salomon boots, that are probably perfect size, as my toe is a tiny bit off the end when in normal stance, but i have authotics because i have flat feet. sometimes my feet get prity sore skiing. du u think it would be better to take the authotics out, as i dnt use them in my everyday shoes? i also have wide feet. i there any way of fixing this other than buying new boots, coz i broke my skis yesterday so am strapped for cash.

where do your feet hurt. If its under your your arch/ ball of the foot, its probably the orthotic.

Were the orthotics made specifically for your ski boots. Alot of orthotics for regular shoes wont work in ski boots as there is not the same stride/gate motion (ie; no flex in the sole of the boot), in a ski boot your foot is fairly stationary compared with in a running shoe.

what are the orthotics made of, is they are very rigid with little to no flex then they are probably the cause of the problem....

yeah, ur not gunna anna use ur orthotics for ur ski boots if they are made for sneakers, get some custom foot beds, pretty much the same thing as orthotics, but for ski boots, they will make a HUGE difference

do not use orthotics made for your shoes in your ski boots. they are hard plastic and do not have any give whatsoever. this is why your feet hurt.

your best bet is to go have some footbeds made at a ski shop or have custom orthotics made by your doctor specifically for ski boots. they are softer, warmer and have a lot more shock absorbtion.

thanks for the help, but when i bought my boots i got the insoles from the ski shop, so i gues they were for skis. it is around the arches that it hurts i think. next time i go could i just pull an insole out of my shoes to see if it is the raised arch making a diffrence?
