whenever i got out skiing wherever it may be park, or my back yard. i put on my boot and it feels just fine. but when i start skiing it always starts to hurt 2-3 inches above my right ankle on the outside, thats the only place. my left boot feels fine. could i fix this problem with canting, or something simple like that, or is it more complex. any help for this problem would be apperciated. thanks

make sure your liners are going in right, that theyre not bunched up at all. then check your foot, sometimes if you twist it or something itll swell a bit and that could cause some pain. you might be able to fix it with canting, but im not sure exactly how that would change it, its hard to say without seeing exactly where

not always, thats the exact spot I get it. But it does not really sound like your problem after further reading.

yeah, thats true. But I do pull/stretch the muscle in that area from landing back seat or tail butters. Basically the same actions and damage as shin bang, just a different area.

i get a pain right above my outside left ankle just above the ankle i hate it its prolly cus i broke it earlire this season so do u have an old ankle ingury?

Not calf, its more towards the front then the back for me. I think its from my leg twisting(inward) slightly in my boot when I lean back, so that area is more forward then my shin. So when I lean back that area is forward, and gets stretched. if that makes sense.

Boots not tight enough in the top area is my guess. Combined with kinda weird calf shape. My leg is skinny, right until my boot cuff ends then my calf muscle starts to bulge out. I think its from running a lot. Kinda soft boots too, Lange free ride comp 100's. If I get my power strap super tight, and only around the liner it seems to help a lot.

We really need lots more sports medical research in this kind of injury. I go to boot fitting shops and tell them whats up and they just look at me like WTF? Then I go to my sports med doc, who specializes in ski injures and she says the same thing WTF?

i had the same problem as you do. put your powerstrap on underneath the plastic shell of your boot (so it goes around just your liner) then buckle your boots up over it. it helps a ton.

i hope i described that correctly
