boot help

so I have a pair of lange ac 8's from two years ago. They are good boots, but are tight and stiff as hell. Well, when I ski numerous days in a row, esp in the bumps, it gives me the deepest muscle bruise on the outside of my left calf.

Any suggestion from people who know boots well? Should I look into getting a softer boot since they are cheap in the off season, or do I take them to a shop to see if they can help me?

i use to have 1080 boots and they always killed my shines. i got the rossi soft boots and they are the best boots every. i would get them if u can

yeah i had the 1080 boots to i hated them they felt like my shins were going to break in two after a couple days straight of riding. the only thing i can sugest really is getting new boots theres not much u can do other than that i think. i got the salomon soft boots they are really nice i suggest getting a soft boot for sure they are cheap right now too 129 i think at getboards.com. hope this helped

i used to have Salomon Performa 5.0s and after 3 days of skiing in a row, i could barely walk my shins hurt so much. So now i have some Lange Concept Jib boots, and they kick ass. my shins are happy, the boots are very nice, and i got them for $130 at getboards.com

If you really don't want to buy new boots try booster straps for sure.....they are freakin sweet. I don't know much about that boot.....how stiff is it?? It sounds like it might be your body not your boot (no offense). I can't see how a boot would hurt the outside of one of your calfs...not both. I dunno though, hard to say. If you live in a place that there is a professional boot fitter go pick thier brain, those dudes know soo much. Custom boots changed my skiing a ton.

thx morebumps... yeah, I think it has something to do with my left leg leaning out more (when I walk too, but very well could be a skiing problem) I will ask my local shop and see if they think the booster's will help.

'Yeah, I'll get that cleaned up lickity-split. Speaking of lickity-split what do you say you and I meet up later, see what's going on? Just kidding. But seriously, I'm new in town, kinda lonely, looking for my parents..'

Hear's something to try; I'm assuming your boots have a canting adjustment feature on them. Take your liners out and take your sox off. Put your feet in your boots and buckle em up pretty tight, but not so tight they're all the way around your foot. Next, mess with the caning adjustments so you have equal space on each side of your leg. The more equal that space is the better off you are. But remember the boot is the most important link in all of your ski equiment. It's the only thing that has to be comfortable and functional at the same time. Good luck
