howdy,

my GF is looking for new boots she currently uses Salomon X wave 8s which pretty much cripple her whenever we ski so they need to be destroyed. We went round every ski shop in courchevel and meribel at the end of 05 season and tried pretty much everything on with no real stand out success. She has a really high instep, average with toes and skinny heels and cos she is a femme has low calf muscles(eg the top of the boot needs to be wide-ish) from the looks of it the technica attiva seems to be the one to try on paper but if anyone has similar feet or knowledge let me know what to give a shot. much appreciated. taa

not a single boot fit well when u went to all those shops? try custom fitting whatever is closest to fitting good.........or snowboard?

yeah the x-waves were custom fit albeit very badly so i think it still has to be a pretty hot fit. half the problem is when you try something on that really doesn't fit to start with your feet are fucked when you try everything else on.

you can suggest boarding to her if you like but i wont defend you when she tells you where to shove it! skier chick through and through!

dont even bother with nordicas.. if she has a skinny heel they wont fit at all. My only advice would be like you said the technica activa or some dalbello maybe

go to a boot fitter.

If anyone is in colorado with the same kind of problem. Larry's Bootfitting in Boulder is amazing. Larry is one of the best boot guys in the country.

ueah.

my first thought was dalbello.

i have really big calfs for my weight, and alot of boots just felt like shit.

and i have an ok sized instep.

the heel is really tight in my dalbellos, so i am assuming they have a ssmaller heel.
