Boot-binding compatibility between different K2/Full Tilt shells.

I found some used K2 FL3X Revolver Pros (classic Full Tilt boot style) for cheap and was looking at reselling them. However, if they are compatible with my current bindings, I may just stow them or my current Full Tilt Descendent 8 ski boots for the future.

Both pairs of boots are the same size and have ISO 5355 soles. They do have different shells (Descendent vs. the classic full tilt shell style), but, considering that they are made by the same company with K2 absorbing Full Tilt into their own line, would it be safe to simply click the Revolvers into my bindings mounted for the Descendents?

Second question(s): The Revolver Pros clearly have been used a bit, but it's only January, and they are a 2022-2023 boot. They felt comfortable trying them on, but would it be worth going to get a heat mold when the liner has already been packed in by someone else? Liners seem to be $100-$200, but is it sometimes worth getting a fresh liner?

You should double check, the BSL is stamped on the shell close to the heel for both boots. I would always check the forward pressure (and afd height, etc) with new boots though, even the same stated BSL may be a few mm's off for various reasons.

Intuition says you can heat mold their liners more than once. If its packed out though, get a new liner you can't really fix that.

because you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about in general

Chill brother. I have a novel idea then. Explain to me where I'm uninformed so that I can actually learn something instead of just cussing me, a stranger to you, out on the internet. I'm not some boot fitter. I'm just a dude who saw a deal on boots and is now asking a question related to the SAFETY of a gear interaction. Sorry that I am trying to keep my knees healthy.

The gatekeeping is real.

Once again, don't know why you feel the need to cuss a stranger out online just because I don't understand something. We'd probably have a chill convo if I met you in person and asked the same question, so why the hate?

Do you mean that just the bottom of the boots are the same? The rest of the shells look very different.

Because I’m a dick and this is Newschoolers. Ask Reddit if you want a nicer answer.

Your transparency is admirable. All that aside, how are they the same molds? Just the bottoms?

Naw, looking into it they are completely different boots, and yeah if the sole length is the same they would probably work, but I wouldn’t suggest that you do it yourself. Go to a shop and get them adjusted properly by a professional. They shouldn’t need a remount so it would just be some slight adjustments that they would make to save your knees

Alright, it sounds like I'll just save em for when my current boots give up the ghost, which happens too often with Descendents. I'll take them into a shop to get properly fitted when that time comes.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Gatekeeping? lmao

Just do some fucking research before asking dumb questions, this information is literally everywhere.
