do booster straps eliminate shin bang when you land backseated on frontflips and when doing sw tail butters?

i'll probably get them either way but rn one bad landing and/or one too many sw tail buds and i cant ski bc the pain.

It does, but backseat landing on front flips are a tough on to combat. The booster straps helped me for a bit, but not nearly as much as getting a new boot that’s properly fitted to my foot.

I wouldn't count on boosters to eliminate it, put them under the shell and make sure everything is nice and snug to your shin

Boosters are so worth the $$. I’ll never go back. Not so much shin bang elimination as much as eliminating tongue slamming into your shin and aggravating the shin more

I have to ask what you guys mean when you talk about booster straps?

Most boots I've had have a strap that goes above the buckles, is that it?

I did a search and found a brand name "booster" strap that is stretchy and replaces the factory strap, it sounds like that's what you mean?

Hmm...

they are a replacement strap that is way better than the one you get on your boots originally. althought i believe the patent ran out so k2 is gonna have them on there boots. its has some kind of elastic or something in it that makes it so you can tighten the strap way more then you can usually. its great i think

It’s not so that you can tighten it more. It’s for the rebound of the elastic.

Yesss, it starts with a good fitting boot that doesn't leave any voids in front of your shins (spoilers or more volume in the tongue area could help), but boosters/elastic power straps are icing on top of the cake

Get Masterfit Eliminator Pads aswell. I haven’t had true shinbang once in the 4 years I’ve been skiing with em. They ain’t gonna help with toebang though.

Booster straps are THE MOVE. It's an easy upgrade.

Solution to shin bang though? Ski backseat all the time. My tibialis anterior muscles are bullet proof. Never had shinbang, not even once.

feel like most skiers have a period with lots of shinbang, it's natural progression almost. after some time your muscles will get strong enough to withstand it. having a snug boot that fits is key to help with it, so boosters is the way to go

There’s gotta be some sort of workout that can target the shin muscles used when skiing super backseat. Maybe the one where you stand with your toes on something raised and go from heels super low to standing on the tips of your toes?

calf raises

They can help for sure.. but in my opinion just a well fitted boot does the job. Since i started riding boots with a 130 flex that is fitted to my foot it works without EVER getting shin or toebang.

The main benefit of booster straps is dangling the straps outside the bottom of your pants, lets people know you are the best skier on the mountain

Opposite. It's called a tibialis raise. Lean against a wall, heels on the ground and lift the toes/ball of foot. Kneesovertoesguy on Instagram does this religiously. But strengthening the soleus and calf with various exercises helps as well for overall stability.

I’ve been meaning to get into the knees over toes stuff, heard good things

If my boots have rivets not screws that hold my reggie straps, if i buy booster straps from a shop should they mount them for me too?

Maybe. Its not very hard to do it yourself even with the rivets.

ya for anyone that watches the youtube video and has a drill it should take less than 5 minutes, if you don’t wanna be hassled i don’t think asking them to help you out should be an issue
