Booster straps, WOW!

I just got one and skied on it yesterday and holy hell it helps with shin death. It is much reccomended that you try it. They're 25 bucks and another 15 to have em put on, well worth it.

hahahahahaha, what the fuck chris.... you actually got those things? i still don't get how they do anything.

yes, this is a mod that would replace your stock power strap. I'm getting it too after hearing Chris rave about them. I'm gonna have the sickest, most pimped out old boots of all time...

silly kids, boosters are key. i rocked them racing back in the day and still do so... they make your boot flex much more smoothly and prevent shinbang somewhat... so get boosters. oh but get the 3 band not 2.

oh yeah, and dont pay 15 bucks to put them on, get a screw driver and hole punch and do it yourself, damn.

So how exactly do they work? My new boots are crazy soft and it sucks ass. When I bought them, I was told if they were too soft I could get some screw installed that would signifigantly stiffen them up.

My calves are just DYING from all the nose and tail presses I've been doing. This will help that?

hmm, interesting. i need new boots altogether though, 150+ days on my current ones = dead boots. would you reccomend putting them on new ones?

they make sense to me! instead of BANG, its more like cushion, but still taught enough and enough elasticity so you dont lose control

my shins don't bang into anything though, cause I know how to buckle my boots properly unlike you kiddies aparently.

I just stretch the muscles in my calves all too hell from tail presses and landing EVERYTHING back seat cause I don't know how to ski.

This is just a big fat like 3 inch strap, but if my boot is already completely snug it won't change anything!

so um... if you dont want to believe... try them... the best way is to do em up real tight while youre on the boat to vashon and just jump off

if you get really bad shinbang, you're boots are probably a shell size too big...if it's only moderate pain, then a booster strap may help. or a neoprene insert. I got the neoprene and it helped out a lot.

do they help with shredding the gnar? that's mostly what I'm concerned with. the fresh pow gnar gnar shred gnar.

uh... yes kevin many times, duh.

you can't step into the god-forsaken thing, you have to grab onto the oh shit handles and just pull your body weight up.

fecking trucks, good for nothing I tell ya.

boosters are wicked. put them under your shell, directly on your liner and they will get rid of any place you may have in your upper boot. with out the slightest bit of play, you wont be able to bang your shins on your boots because they always move together. you can do this with a normal power strap, but its not as nice. the booster is elasticized so it gives you a progressive flex. it works wonders for park because its squishy, and basically most big mountain rippers use them becuase it gives a much tighter more personal fit.

your shop shouldnt charge you to install them if you buy them there.

to stiffen up your boots, to the guy who asked, just stick a bolt through the upper cuff and lower cuff on the calf. this has to be done higher then the original attaching point. all it does is take away leverage on your boot.

Thats what I was told when I bought the boots. I knew they were soft, but they were super cheap ($100) and other than the softness, very nice. The guy said I could just take them to sturts to have a bolt put in. Need to get on that.

Just got a pair and im stoked...i got a question though. i basically ride park all day because of east coast weather and i wiegh 180. I bought expert (the second ones in the chain of 3 as opposed to intermidaite and world cup.) Is expert the right one for park becasue the little drawing on the back says i should be riding with world cup but i dont wanna just have a stiffy ass boot...anyone know?
