Which type of Booster Strap (intermediate, World Cup, Expert/Racer) is best for park?

Not sure if it matters, but I weigh 154 lbs.

The above is a good indication for you.

However, I'm 5'10" / 130lb and I use the Expert/racer version.

What is the point of a bosster strap? what benefits does it have vs just using buckles?

"These handy devices are especially dynamic and replace your stock straps. Cinching 'em down allows for a stiffer flex, yielding exceptional power transmission and precision handling. Traditional power strap are now passe."

I am about the same weight and recommend the Expert one, which has three elastic bands. If you find it too stiff (which you shouldn't), you can always just cut the inner band so that it only has two bands like the intermediate one. Booster straps are a must, you'll never go back to the standard straps...

It eliminates the dead spot in your boots that you get when you unweight or stand straight up. A normal non elastic strap you can only ream on so much before you cut off circulation, and because it is static when you flex into the tongue of your boot and then lean back or unweight your shins you'll create a small gap (aka deadspot) where there is no contact of the boot tongue against your shin. This dead spot can cause the dreaded shin bang since you are essentially freefalling an inch (or however big your deadspot is) straight onto a stiff flex boot tongue every time you weight and unweight.

Contrary to popular belief it doesn't actually make your boot stiffer, although it may give you the illusion that it is stiffer because the cuff will be properly suctioned to your shin at all times, therefore engaging the flex sooner than you would otherwise. I dunno, I guess maybe that counts as making it stiffer, you decide.

Had the racer one on my old boots. So good and could crack em down real nice. Just got new boots tempted to put a new strap on mine but the power strap is really solid so until I feel like I need it going to rock the stock one.

120lbs on a 120 flex dalbello and I use the expert. like others said you can make the stiffer straps less stiff by cutting, but you can't go the other way.
