I searchbarred this and found nothing on the subject.

i was talking to the boone rep last week when he dropped off my skis at my front door (pretty sweet no lie) and

he said they are coming out with a new powder ski that's gonna be thrown on the market soon or something, and its going to be wide and rockered

and shit... like 118 underfoot. anyone else heard about it or know

anything about it?

here's the front of the buiz card he gave me, apparently the 2nd from the far right one is one of the graphics for it... Sorry that my scanner sucks and the quality is all crappy.

could be sick, who knows. hardly any1 has ridden boone.

i like the graphic, but i think they could've made it look a little more different than the far left one.

i remember dingo saying something about them a while back when every thread in gear talk was about boones

i ride boone. i broke my carbon ollie band broke and my edges seem to dissapear fast?

preparing to warente the ollieband prob

thats weird that the ollieband broke but not the core. how do you know it was just the ollieband?
and are the edges cracking, falling out, or just rounding off really quickly?
haha sry for all the questions but you're like one of two people who's ridden them.

^^surprised to hear about that breakage... i thought they didn't have an ollieband?
anyways the pow ski will come in a 185 with some rocker... pretty sure it's set to come out in late spring or summer.

Boone has no carbon ollie band.. you're thinking of Line, sucka!

and thanks bret, for some of the infoo.

ha yea... there is no way ill make a season out of them maybe finish out the month of december.

all pop was lost.

no.

^and bummer dude think you can get them warrentied? i actually had a lot of hope for boone and didn't hate on them like everyone else, but its a bummer to hear their ski broke so soon- it sucks when they lose their pop. try to warrenty them, maybe you just got a lemon.

yea i still have hope. there are always a few pair out there that have defects

im not giving up on boone yet, love the dimensions!

there definally not a bit like anthems..

boone doesnt have a north american prototype factory. thats whay they made such safe models at the beginning, because everyone else has made the same thing, and it works. they didn't test their gear before they ordered it. they should get their shit togther for this ski.

wrong dude, they went through a bunch of sample designs with different shapes and flexes before they made the order. this dude probably just got a lemon and i'm sure he'll get taken care of.

Yes, Boone is coming out with a brand new REAL powder ski... not to be confused with the "powder ski" that is really a midfat, freeride ski.

This ski will be fat, rockered, and will have some really sick dimensions.

have you looked at the dimensions at all? just wondering...
125/93/119-boone powder version119/93/119- anthems

oh shit my bad...6mm makes them completely different and not a bit like the anthems at all...

assuming you're being sarcastic, yeah.. actually that does make quite a bit of difference.. especially going switch lol...

not to mention, the construction of both skis are so different... anthems are cap construction, whereas boones are sandwich with vertical sidewall construction. the cores are made out of different materials, and the tapering is definitely not the same...

Boone's REAL powder ski is going to be 118 underfoot... so enough with the talk that Boone doesn't make anything fat.

yes i realize that they have a very different construction, but to say that they are not similar is some bollocks. and i have always bit my tongue in these discussions but i really get the concept of marketing them as park/powder versions and then saying that the powder version isnt really a powder version but just a little wider park version and that the REAL powder ski is in development? i dont want this thread to go to shit so i dont want to add fuel to anyones fire. boone's powder(not really) ski is similar to the anthem and i do not believe that 6mm will drastically change how the ski rides forward or switch. this is just my opinion though so dont get too riled up...

The waist is similar, yes.. but 6mm DOES make a difference when you're mounting them up true centre, and going switch. I have used symmetrical skis before, and going switch on them is definitely easier than a non-symmetrical ski.

Thats why I set almost all my skis at least 1cm back from centre, because it almost feels like it goes against the 'grain' of the ski otherwise.. or at least thats what I notice...

If it makes no differance to you, thats awesome.. but I, and many other people set their skis up differently I guess. lol.
