a big ol piece about the size of my thumb peeled up on the tail so i just epoxied it down and i havent had any problems since. otherwise the skis ride sick

alrite thanks for the help and mine are chipping but thats usual but im talking mine has peeled up about 2 inches from the nose of the ski

holy shit that's gnarly^

My friend had those skis and hated them, hmm i wonder why?

But in all reality, try warranty, if the don't do anything, apoxxy it down.

(Spelling on apoxxy?)

Skis ride dope just falling apart. tryign to warranty them right now but they havent gotten back to me

haha i think every boone ski i've ever seen has that same thing. boone should really consider developing a rivet system.
/hint

Unfortunately that's what happens when you buy some boutique company skis, every single pair of Boone's I've seen measure out to different lengths in the pair some as severe as a 3cm difference from one ski to the other.

We warranty our skis against any defects in workmanship - We take care of our customers. If you need anything, just give us a call!

Skis take a lot of abuse in the park - almost any park ski will experience some breakage and delamination issues in a certain percentage of the skis.

Rivets are an obvious "fix" and we'll definitely have rivets on some of our park skis in the future. Thanks!

same thing happened on the tail of one of my skis but not as bad and im not worried about that becuase mines form the way i store them inside but all of the other edges on mine are fine especially under bott there the best edges ive ever had

i tried but then i read on the site if you bought them on sale the warrenty was voided and i couldnt find my proof of purchase. and i got a sick deal on another set of skis from a friend, and then decided to just keep these for urban or something like that

wow really? yeaa that's uncomplainable haha. I remember back about 5 years ago I got a pair of 9thwards (they've been through this quality and reputation repair as well) for about 120 and broke them after 3 hours of very light skiing and they wouldnt warranty them either. Least you probably got more than I did out of your boones..

dont get me wrong dude, because I know you're absolutely right. Next years skis will be as flawless as we can possibly get them to be. The quality of the glosticks we've produced is evident of that.

Every ski company has to go through quality issues. Salomon used to use foam cores with cap construction, and the camber diminished after 20 days of riding them, and the edges always broke. Volant went out of business because of their epic delam issues, and we all know what pieces of junk the early liberties and lines were with edge blowouts, delams and other things. (remember the first edition invaders? my god..)

we thought we had it locked down with our first batch. Obviously we were wrong and it's all being fixed.

its true. It almost doesnt matter what skis we have, were' likely to destroy them no matter what they are in so many ridiculous ways... I remember when I broke a pair of original moment renos. I didnt want to buy from them ever again at the time, but obviously, I was the one at fault for breaking them. skis are put under enormous pressures.

That said, it's the company's job to make them as bombproof as possible, while keeping them affordable. It's a fine line.

some of them came out a lot better than others... I for the life of me CANNOT break this pair of 180's i'm riding right now.. No delams, no cracked edges, no nothing, and they have a good lot of hard days. You might have gotten one out of our last few batches (which all seemed to go awesomely, and which most of the skis we still have in stock from last year came from) I know mine came out of that batch of skis, yours might have too?

haha they're actually my friends... and if you look under the binding the only thing holding the binding on is the topsheet which completley seperated from the ski

^^ yeah those are mine. i had them for 4 month and the tail randomly delamed, i epoxied it then part of it same up again. then yesterday i noticed this happened. its actually a lot worse than it looks from the photo. the topsheet actually came up under me tailpiece of my binding. awesome today i bought a new pair line chronic cryptonites. hope they last longer....

lol

I don't want to rip you and your company a new one because I get that Boone is trying to make it just like everyone else but you're shitting out of your mouth.

Hopefully next year you guys will get it worked out, but on another note, looks like some really solid topsheet graphics from what I can see.

wait boone is still in there first production run? i thought you guys have been making skis for like 2 years.

what do you mean by production run, because we've made a lot of skis over the last few years at different times...

BAHAHA, sorry to laugh but lines are also famous for delaming really easily. they are great skis but my are delaming. try some armadas they are so much more durable

Hey not to jump into a reader-only forum but this is an interesting topic because I know we want to make the best skis we can at a price you guys can afford. It is also interesting to see how pissed off and vocal the small minority are who have issues with their skis - vs the majority who don't have problems and never vocalize that they're happy with their skis.
Almost everyone is right to some extent. Sean actually isn't "shitting out of his mouth" as one reader so eloquently described. The fact is, Yes, all ski companies do have breakage issues of some kind on all of their park skis. They do take a beating.
Yes we did have some delam issues on our tips and tails.
Rivets take care of some of this but in my opinion the bigger issue is is making sure the edges are pre-bent correctly and laid in perfectly - which didn't happen on 100% of our early skis. To this day if someone makes a small mistake laying in the edge it can cause an issue. This is why we have a solid warranty - buy from BOONESKIS.com and we'll have record of your purchase and stand by it for 12 months.
There who are ski building "experts" these days but the bottom line is: building a ski that performs well and is super durable is difficult to do on an affordable ski. Materials cost about $100 + Labor ($95) + Manufacturing Equipment (LOTS - I won't even include this) + Marketing/Promo/Warranty skis (depends on total production volume and duration but we'll say about $50/pair) + free shipping which we offer on all skis at booneskis.com ($35-$45 per pair) + Artwork ($30/pair) = Approximately $300 per pair without factoring in all the other costs of doing business - such as business licenses, travel, gas, insurance, taxes, etc. So - you can do the math. Where do you cut-back?
We at BOONE are a humble rider collective - everyone at BOONE donates their time in return for product and the opportunity to be part of a team of skiers who care about the sport - along with most everyone else in the industry who is working hard to put out dope product and progress our sport!

Word. I have skied mine hard his whole season from concrete to grass and they are holding up great. It has top sheet chipping but most skis do that. No edge cracks or dents either. I love Boone skis. Also when are new graphics coming out for 2011?

Glad to hear it! Graphics are done for 2011 - we'll release 'em as soon as we close out our final inventory! We have about 20 pairs of Magic Sticks, 5 pairs of SuperFreaks and 2 pairs of Twins left from the original batch. We're doing $299 + free shipping + a pair of new Armada poles with the removable grips at BOONESKIS.COM which is super below cost - we just need to get 'em out!
These will actually be vintage pairs because its our first run and we only built a very limited selection of each of these skis - ha ha. EnjoyJaime Melton - Backflip Disaster on his Twins - Stomp Games 2009
